HapePyramid of Play

My son is a little young for this, as I purchased this when I found it for a good price (rather than waiting). At 14 months, though, he LOVES it. He really enjoys carrying the blocks around (and, let's be honest, he loves banging them on things). He has just figured out how to get the shapes to fit in their designated spaces, which fascinated him.There are a couple criticisms made by other reviewers that I wanted to address.First, the construction. This item seems to be made of a plywood, so the wood is in layers. It's not a composite material, but it's not as heavy as real wood (A good thing-- otherwise these would be a little dangerous, in my opinion!). The quality seems to be fairly good, though you can see small "dimples" at the joints (ostensibly from where they were fastened together?). The blocks seem to be solid enough not to break (even after some SERIOUS pounding at the hands of a very enthusiastic one-year-old), but not so heavy they could hurt him.Second, the finish. Some reviews complained that the wood was rough and splinter-y. Though the blocks don't have a shiny finish like I had expected, I didn't find it rough or splintery. I actually liked the more matte natural look.Finally, storage for the small pieces. A couple people complained that there is no storage for the small shapes once the blocks are nested. At first I found this annoying, but then I decided to just keep the shapes in their respective boxes when I stacked them (so the star goes in the blue box, the orange box with the rectangle in it goes on top of that, the green box with the triangle in it goes on top of that, and so on), and it actually works perfectly. The shapes make the boxes stick out a little (so they don't store in a perfect compact square) but this makes it easier for my son to pick them up individually (rather than picking up the big heavy box and dumping them all out). So I found the storage to be a non-issue once you think a little outside (or inside?) the box!Overall I REALLY like these blocks, and my son loves them. We haven't had any issues at all but I'll be sure to update my review if we ever do.

A sturdy toy that is built to last.

I love this. It's not plastic and doesn't flash or make noises...which I think is great for baby and parent. The boxes are sturdy, attractive, and my son loves them. He also loves playing with his wooden blocks on top of them which is pretty cute and looks like fun. It's nice to have something engaging and safe for him to mess around with while I'm cleaning up or reading. Tots love having projects!

I have 13 month old teething twins. They gnaw on everything so I really wanted painted wooden nesting blocks, not cardboard or paper covered wood. Got these about 2 months ago and they are holding up just fine. Really like the ridge so they stay in place easily when stacked. I took away the little shapes for now since they seemed like a choking hazard for this age but the blocks are still fun without them.

Was going to give 4 stars because the wood seems like it could be sanded a little better, but honestly these are so great besides that. The colors are extremely vibrant and I’m so happy we got these for our 2 year old!

After reading the reviews, I selected this stacking toy above others - and I'm thrilled with the product. First, the toy is made in Switzerland with attention to wood selection and non-toxic paint. I personally don't have the same faith for products made in China. Secondly, the tops of each box include a lip or rim that helps keep the next sequential box in place. Other stacking toys do not have this feature, and after watching my one-year old stack the boxes, I realize how helpful that short rim is - it keeps the boxes from sliding off each other and definitely increases confidence in the little builder! The toy is well made and I expect we'll get a lot of use out of it for years to come.

Very nice quality. Sturdy when stacked and I can see that these blocks will endure the abuse that most toddlers give their toys.

Looks great and I love the concept but the wood is really rough. Feel like children could easily hurt themselves with this toy. Sharp corners :(

Bellissima e ben fatta! Il bimbo lo adora! Multi attività e multi lingue ( i disegni si riferiscono alle lettere in inglese a-b-c-d-e; mentre i numeri richiamano il numero dei disegni). Ottimo materiale resistente e non pesantissimo. Sul lato si inseriscono forme di diversi colori, anch’essi abbinati ai disegni. Pienamente soddisfatta anche la mamma.

Mi hija, de 8 meses y medio, se entretiene muchísimo con los cubos. Creo que son mejor de lo que parece en la foto.

It's not as colourful as I had thought

Really great, can be played with in soooo many ways!It stacks both inside itself and high to make a tower. It has shape sorting and colours, numbers and animals to include in your play. Bought this for my niece and her aprents said whjat a lovely wooden traditional toy it was.
