On my second pair
I have purchased a variety of orthotic insoles since I got plantar fasciitis last year. Even custom orthotics the doc recommended. Each shoe has a different orthotic in it for regular use. I found that after months of use, I keep moving these orthotics to my other shoes b/c they feel so much better. I finally decided to just buy a second pair of these (and probably more soon) so I can quit moving them around between different shoes and stop wearing the others which aren't as good.

Had to Mold for Best fit
I have been suffering from arch and heel pain for a long time so, after P/T didn't work I finally decided to visit a Podiatrist. I purchased these after he recommended them. Out of the box they were very uncomfortable b/c the arch was too high and was giving pressure too far back from the arch. It wasn't until I molded them to my foot that I found satisfaction. I followed these instructions, from the Google. Used a 3 quart sauce pan, filled it 1/4 with water and brought it to a boil. Took it off the heat, submerged the insole into the hot water, held it under water w a spoon for 2 mins.( b/c it floats). Removed from the water, quick wipe off and placed it in my shoe., stood up, mostly standing on one leg for good pressure, done. It molded to my arch, just right. Took out and allowed to dry. Now they are providing Great support, w/o the pain.

You could spend $400 on the stupid Good Feet brand that does the same thing
You could spend $400 on the stupid Good Feet brand that does the same thing...but why? Solved major heel pain instantly (not exaggerating). These are a must-have item if your arches aren't what they used to be or you walk on hard surfaces frequently. Make sure to get the ones that have the hard plastic arch that doesn't collapse, which is what makes them very effective. I went through lots of the Dr. Scholl cushy inserts that don't solve your pain and waste your money. I suggest that you get the Spenco Rx ORTHOTIC full length versions only, and trim them to fit each pair of your shoes. That will stop them from shifting position. When they slip forward or back, it really hurts if they move forward under the ball of your foot or back under your heel, but this won't happen if you get full length inserts. They feel sooooo very good every time I put my shoes on. Tennis shoes, rubber boots, dress shoes, hunting boots, whatever. They are washable, but you must air dry them.

These work
A therapist originally prescribed a pair of these for my Planter Fasciitis, and they work.I had developed pain in the heal of my left foot and tried the heel cushions. That would provide some relieve, but not much. Before this issue set in I would routinely run a 5 K four or five times a week. We are also ballroom dancers and the arch of the left foot takes a lot of abuse, more so than the right. That back-step in swing puts a lot of stress on the planter muscle. After a couple hours of teaching I would hobble off the floor.I now wear a pair of these almost all the time. I keep one pair in my running shoes, and rotate the other two pairs between my street shoes and dance shoes.Having praised the Spenco, I do need to acknowledge that fixing this type of issue takes more than an Orghotic insert. If you therapist gives you a stretching exercise, use it. If you don't see a therapist, at least look into how to properly stretch you feet. It may take a few minutes of your time, but well worth the comfort and getting your mobility back. Also, stop buying cheap shoes.I'm back to running 5k several times a week and don't mind getting back on the dance floor. Occasionally I still feel the heal, but nothing like I was dealing with a year ago.

AVOID: Arch located too far towards heel.
My Podiatrist recommended this specific brand and model for my Plantar Fasciitis . I wear a size US 11.5 shoe and the arch placement is all wrong on this arch support. It is too far back. The support instead of being under the arch of my foot, is more towards the back of the arch and somewhat under the front of the heel. I felt my doctor was correct and maybe it was supposed to feel “uncomfortable” at first so I tried to make it work. Eventually, due to these causing pain (bruising) in the non injured foot, and no improvement in the injured foot, I had to give up.Even when in the shoe, tue arch slips forward about a half inch and it is still not in the correct place. Additionally, these were sold as full size and they don’t reach the toe of the shoe so even if they had worked, it would be necessary to attach them to the shoe for long term use.If the arch was further forward, they might be useful, but for me these are useless.
