My son loves this book
We have been reading this book every night since it came in the mail. He's so happy and says "Just like me" at almost every page.

The second of three books that help children with cataracts and their parents manage eyeglasses, contacts and patching
As a pediatric ophthalmologist I have all three books in my waiting room. The books really help aphakic children cope with the differences in their lives compared to their peers (contact lenses, patches, and glasses.) Jack, the subject of this book, has had both eyes operated upon for congenital cataracts and wears bifocal glasses or contacts. The book shows Jack's mom putting contacts in and how well Jack cooperates.I find that even the children, who didn't have cataract surgery but who wear glasses for other reasons, like the book because Jack wears eyeglasses "just like" them. The book also has fully accurate drawings of eye instruments just as they are in my office. This helps to calm the fears of the children before they come into the exam room.I commend the author and illustrator on a job well done and thank them for their tremendous contribution to the care of this sometimes difficult to treat condition.

This book is great for kids who use glasses and kids who have friends who patch or use glasses. Love it!
My son is bilateral aphakic, he wears contacts and bifocal glasses. He is 3 years old, and he loves the book!! we read it every night before bed, at least twice. This morning he put his glasses on by himself and said that Jack wears glasses just like him! I'm so happy, I have learned a thing or two with this book, and my son is feeling happy and can relate to Jack and his glasses in a positive way. Thank you Juliette Vignola for writing this book. You did a superb job!! I recommend it to any parents who have kids in glasses, and also to parents of kids who have friends who patch or use glasses, as it will also help them understand that is something kids with glasses need and to treat them with respect as well, and not discriminate. Love it!

This book is PERFECT for kids just like Jack
This book is PERFECT for kids just like Jack! My 5 year old is bilaterally aphakic and wears contacts & bifocals. He was thrilled the first time we read this book together. We do things just like Jack & his mommy...wash hands, left eye first, open wide, POP it in! I am so thankful that a book like this has been written! It makes my little guy know that there are other kids out there...just like him!
