Barnacle Buster

After reading the reviews, I had high expectations for removing barnacles from my boat. I power washed all of the barnacle off of the boat but the base husks remained. I applied Barnacle Buster and let it set for about an hour. The bases were still very hard to scrape off. I applied Buster several times more (leaving it set even longer) and still found the bases hard to remove. I did notice some bubbling but it did not have much effect. I also noticed that the gallon I purchased was already diluted and was not the concentrate it claimed in the sales add. I have to wonder if that is part of the problem. I see no evidence this product works as described and would probably not purchase it again.

I have a 2010 Ranger 25 tug with a Yanmar 4BY2-150 Diesel engine. Last week, it began to overheat, coming about 10 degrees F above nominal temperature.I removed the water hose from the exhaust elbow, closed the seacock and drained the raw water out the sea water screen, and filled the raw water system with Barnacle Buster. Left the engine sit overnight.Next day, I replaced the engine zincs (they were due), replaced the impeller (it was also due), opened the seacock and started the engine. A bunch of brown colored rusty looking stuff came out the exhaust - and after checking for leaks, I took the boat out for a test.The water temperature returned to low-normal, a drop of about 12 degrees. The product couldn't be easier to use.

Worked good but description is misleading. Says dilution ratio is 4:1 so I ordered a gallon thinking it would dilute to 5 but received a gallon of already diluted stuff. Had to reorder and put off fishing for another week... not happy.

We had broken down the barnacles but threw bases still stuck on the hull. We used Barnacle Buster, which softened up the bases and made them very easy to scrape off completely. I have used other products, which were caustic. Barnacle Buster is safe and non-toxic, as well as easy to use. This is our new go-to barnacle product.

I use this stuff once a year to flush my boat's diesel engine cooling system. I leave it in over night and then flush it out with the seawater feed. The difference in water flow is quite astounding each time.

This is the best acid for marine growth based problems. It’s a little slow acting but completely removes the cLcium based growth and so far has been safe for the system components.

It cleaned the heat exchanger perfectly. The engine runs smoothly again

The bottle I received from the seller, TRAC Ecological, was not concentrated as described. I learned it by a test try, the resolving rate was a bit slow and drew my attention. Cannot return it since it was opened per the seller. Buyer beware!

The item description clearly states that this is a 4 to 1 concentrate. I ordered 2 gallons and both were pre diluted and NOT concentrates. I noticed in other reviews that this appears to be a common occurrence.

preseason recirc through engine and heat exchngers maybe one hour (fluid getting warm). Residue was black. engine run temp dropped 2F will plan on doing every 100 hours

The text description says : “concentrate:4 to 1 dilution” but the photo shows the prediluted mix. Well i received my order today and unhappy as it’s not the concentrate but it’s prediluted. Seller needs to ensure description is accurate and there is no ambiguity.
