Hikari USA Inc. Freeze Dried Krill .71oz

At first, I kicked myself...I thought it was flake. User error. But because Hikari is a well-known product that I already use, I gave these a try and was pleasantly surprised. My school of White Skirt Neons, Angel, and Pleco like to push them around and take nibbles but finding the chitin still too thick, they let them bob around in the stream and later come back to devour them! All gone by morning.Handy Tip: No longer grinding my own coffee I have repurposed it for grinding fish foods and making paste dollops (with a wee bit of water) that I can dry out. This process comes in handy for flake or dried cubes that have become dust. Let them dry and pop them into the tank.

I just popped open the container and sprinkled some of the krill in my fish’s tank. Without hesitation, my goldfish gobbled it all up. No waste! I’ve tried some of the other Hikari formulas of fish food and this one is by far my fish’s favorite. I definitely will be repurchasing this food. The freeze dried krill come fully intact in the container. Some are little, while others are pretty big but they do break apart easily after they are reconstituted by the water. My goldfish is large (approximately 10 in), so I just throw a few krill in as is. If you have smaller fish you could always just crumble the krill before tossing it in the tank. I wish this food was more readily available in a larger quantity because my fish can eat!

Simply the best freeze dried foods! Healthy as Whole Foods for my fish. It can be crumpled for tiny fish and fry. And I like how Hikari adds essential vitamins to their whole freeze dried foods such as this Krill!

Fish like it ok but it smelled strong…and the smell kept getting stronger with time. Direction’s didn’t say to refrigerate but I eventually did so out of self defense. Otherwise, I guess it’s ok.

My Oscar loves it!

All my tropical fish and turtle loves the krill. I feed them to my arowana, parrot fish, turtle, tiger barbs once and week and they go crazy over it. It's a good product. The only thing I don't like about this product is there's a lot of broken pieces/crumbs. It's like buying a bad of chips, and when you open it, you have a lot of crumbs as well as entire piece of the chip. So in my product there was 50% crumbs and 50% entire piece of krill's. I'm not sure if other customers experience the same problem or it's just me. But overall, the product is still good.

This is absolutely a great food puffers ! I have a Fahaka, a Ceylon and a Green Spotted puffers in different tanks and they all love this product. Hikari makes the best quality. My puffers usually would like to eat the whole krill, sparing nothing for other little fish which I keep them to eat the remainings from big puffers. If you have a puffer, this is a very convenient food , high in protein, vitamins and fiber (krill shell). Get the bigger product and save. Keep it in a dry and cold place and your puffers will love you for sure.

My turtles are very picky and will only eat this brand. I find that it is a better quality then the cheaper products out there and last a little longer as well.
