X-Plane 11 and Aerosoft Airport Collection PC DVD

I had no trouble at all installing X-Plane. After reading the product reviews and doing a bit of research on the Web and X-Plane website I checked that auto-play was ticked and inserted disc 1. The installer started and displayed the start-up screen. I then had an Windows error message saying the installer had stopped working. I closed the message window by clicking the X and then followed the instructions on the start-up screen. I only selected scenery for the UK and France and the installation took 45 minutes.Also installed Manchester Airport but suffered "Low Memory" problems and removed the airport. X-Plane ran very well - 50 fps - on my 8GB machine (HP Z600 Workstation) but I have ordered more memory modules to take the total memory to 24Gb. Will then try installing Manchester again.18th December 2019: Have now installed extra memory and no more "Out of Memory" warnings. X-Plane 11 will run happily with 8Gb but only the basic Cessna 172 will run as more complex planes and scenery requires more memory. You can pull all the sliders in the Graphic settings back and use less memory but the scenery will be a bit bland.

The setting up of the joystick is not very easy,and takes a lot of thought.Its being used as a practice for Microsoft flight sim which now works on my pc .My advice is go for a pc with 16gb of memory .Excellent flight sim,very close to reality .

Having purchased Xplane11 from Amazon a little while ago at the full price of £59.30, I was disappointed to find that the flights take an excessive long time to load with a lot of the operating instructions quite hard to read being dark grey on black background! But as the graphics are quite good once loaded, have tried to persevere with it to date.However, it has now suffered an update which has caused the program to be impossible to run, hence have now seen that the prices have been reduced considerably in respect of this depreciation!Would appreciate your investigation into this failed simulator.

Excellent sim software and proving a handful to fly helicopters. I would say if you are contemplating a purchase buy online and download. The reason is that you are having to keep putting disc 1 in the dvd player to authenticate and unlock the software which is a pain, due to the fact that whenever you crash you have to quit the program, and restart, which brings the disc load round much faster, (i think it counts the restarts or checks the date, whichever it is a pain!!!

While the product loads satisfactorily in spite of using a new computer with an Intel i7-9700 processor, 16 GB RAM and an NVidia RTX2060 graphics card the frame rate is very poor (single figures when 25-35 is recommended as a minimum), even at low to moderate settings. There is no ready explanation to this apparent deficit and the net result is that the programme runs slow. While the range of options is comprehensive it seems that the programme is not focussed on getting the basics right.

Unless you are a computer expert who also wishes to become an actual pilot and has their own bespoke built computer purely for the purpose of running this program just don’t bother.I put this onto a brand new PC which ticks all the requirements and is the only program on the PC as yet and as soon as I tried to use a different airport it has not loaded since. Nobody has enough time in there lives to bugger about waiting for it to constantly load or more often than not fail to load time and time again.If you want to fly planes then try Roblox online simulators you’ll spend more time in game flying and less time staring at a blue load line that doesn’t move.When it says “for all abilities” I suggest a starting ability of phd in computer science as a minimum.

The graphics is amazing and very close to real life and is better than most flight simulators. The aircraft it self looks to a very high quality standard and I definitely recommend this flight simulator to anyone

Excellent flight simulator. Very realistic with lots of features. Those new to flying and or flight simulators will need to practice the various disciplines and follow tutorials to get the best experience (and exercise patience)
