Is this an essence or a serum? Well, both actually. It acts as an essence a lot like a toner would, but one that is formulated for drier skin. You will not get any astringent type of action from this, so if you need that, use one prior to applying this to your skin. This will prepare your skin for your follow up skincare routine. It conditions the skin and provides you with a layer of protection that feels a lot like a thin serum. Here's where the serum aspect comes in. It is a little thicker than most other essences, though it is still watery. That thicker feeling will leave a layer on your skin that feels like a serum.Can you use this in place of a serum? Sure, why not? Although it's going to come down to what you are looking for on any given day. You can go onto applying your moisturizer after using this or apply a thicker serum if that's what you feel you need. This is ideal to use as your serum on those days when you want something much more lightweight, especially during the warmer months.The only thing that I do not like about this is the smell. It smells to me like pickles, or maybe just the herb dill. Not strong, but absolutely noticeable. When I say pickles, I don't mean as strong and intense as a jar of dill pickles, but there is that definite dill scent about this. Fortunately, it does not linger or last. It's a very good essence/serum, so if you can get past the scent for a minute, you'll be fine.Best for those with normal to dry skin.

I think this is the first "essence" product I've ever used on my face. What to expect, who knew? Well, I've used a bunch of other products from EVE and loved all of them except for one. Their facial cleanser is fantastic, the "TLC" cream is great and the "Moisture Lotion" is amazing. As with all things EVE they come with a top tier price. IF you are going to spend that kind of money, EVE is one brand you can count on to deliver great products.Well, this "Essence" product is just as awesome. It has a bit of a scent but it is very light and appropriate for a facial moisturizer or however you want to classify this product. At 150ml, this is a HUGE tube compared to other products. It doesn't take much to go over your face and neck and it feels almost as good as the "Moisture Lotion". The “Moisture Lotion” is MUCH more expensive when you consider the cost per ounce or milliliter.This product leaves the skin feeling nice and soft but does dry out within a few hours whereas the moisture lotion leaves the skin feeling softer and silkier for a longer period of time. This product is super easy to apply. It is a liquid that has a little thickness to it. Just pour or shake a little out on your hands and apply it to your face. It's a comparatively HUGE container so you can apply it liberally without feeling guilty that you are using too much of it.Overall, this is an excellent product. The scent is perfect, the price is more reasonable than many other products more or less in the same category. It feels great when applied. If you are looking to add something like this to your skin care routine and it is within your budget I think you'll be pleased with this product from EVE.

Very nice essence, it gives an extra-boost of hydration. Which is especially welcome right now with our weather/temps flip-flopping often and causing my skin to start becoming extra dry. I actually have combination skin (the dry areas a very dry!) and it seems to be great so far. My troubles/concerns are also repair and aging. This has a lot of great ingredients for those areas that make me feel extra hopeful for long-term use. Only minor thing I'd say, as far as my skin goes, is that I'd prefer if it didn't have fragrance added-in but I do find the scent itself pleasant

This did not work for me. It made my skin red and sensitive… with a slight burning sensation. The ingredients are listed on the bottom of the box and I’ve posted them in my photo below. Comes in a nice box, and it’s a large glass bottle. It’s only fair to mention that I do have very sensitive skin 🤷🏼‍♀️.

I'm not sure I have the patience to determine whether time will retreat when using this serum, but at $95 it's guaranteed your wallet will retreat in the meantime. In recent months, I've used this serum dozens of times as part of my post-shave facial care regimen. I mentioned in my recent review of a serum from Skin Regimen that it wasn't until I tried out a kit from OxygenCeuticals containing a toner, serum, and cream that I realized serum needs to be applied as part of a three step process in-between applications of toner and cream. After having used post-shave creams for many years, and only just recently introducing toner as a first step, I actually didn't initially know how to use a serum. Averr Aglow Forever Radiant Essential Renewing Serum is the only serum that consistently works for me. Yes, Averr Aglow will set you back about the same amout for 1oz rather than 5oz, but at least it works. I definitely can't say the same about EVE LOM. As with some other products I've tried, I'm granting this product 3 stars to give it the benefit of the doubt for customers who might find some benefit, but as for me and my house this one just takes up space in my medicine cabinet.
