In the Mystic Footsteps of Saints, Vol. 2

This is the second book of "In the Mystic Footsteps of Saints". As always, his faith is total and unwavering. But I can't help thinking about one of his sentences "...it is our own ugliness we abhor in others." (Familiarity Breeds Enlightenment). He seems to abhor the western way of life when actually we all constitute some of Allah's attributes (as he preaches). Is it possible that the ugliness he abhors, i.e. the fallout of materialism, commercialism, uninhibited revelry in sensual indulgence belonged now generally to the Islamic society that's why he sees it in the West? In this second book, his language is more refined, but I miss the simple, pristine content of the first one. He offers a lot of good insight into the Sufi Islam that I can't help but marvel at his English skill and his intelligence. I learn a lot so the Islamic way of propagating religion might not actually be bad; it's very good. I just wonder if perhaps he shouldn't be more putting his mind to the task of pushing the cart out of the rut which is the elimination of his ego. It would be a more well worth enterprise.

Good reading material for a start on the path of Sufism. For those looking for the best Sufi path to follow perhaps a little confining to Naqshbandi order. I am searching for the path leading to Imam Ali and through him to the Holy Prophet Muhammad PBUh and through the Prophet PBUh to Allah SWT Himself.

The gilded contents of these teachings are as precious as wish-fulfilling gems. Here, the reader will discover what true Islam is meant to be: patient, tolerant, endowed with humility, and respect even for the prophets and followers of other relions. This has softened my heart, and I dearly hope it will soften those of others.

This was a very enlightening book with a lot to think about. All positive. And very easy to read a great lesson was learned. Thanks for writing this as more people need this positive material. Food for the soul

I would recomend this book to all people, because it is writen so well so that reader can learn something important.

These books number one a try really gives you a grasp of of Islam from some one you who is truly a master and not interested in blowing people up.

Superbly written discussion of the mystic's world view that transcends faith community and culture.

Best book for practical sufism! It has some very valid universal truths. Pleasing to read and makes you view things from a wider angle.

As with all of Sheikh Nazim's books, there's more wisdom, love and humility in these pages than is possible for most of us to grasp. But it's wonderful to try.

It was very enlightening book wish it could have be longer,anyone seeking spiritual will like this book those new to Islam will find it more beneficial.
