I must declare an interest. I am a member, by marriage, of Clan Menzies. the Clan castle is in Aberfeldy so this is a local product. It is also a very smooth malt with a delicate flavour.

A regular everyday malt - matured in oak casks
For a 12 year malt, Aberfeldy has a good nose - oak cask matured with a very slight hint of maybe seeing a sherry cask, but certainly no great sherry monster. An everyday go to dram. Just bought 6 bottles for £22 each from a well known supermarket (only worth purchasing when on offer for less than £30 a bottle). Batch number 2905 this year, the same batch as I bought 2 bottles of last year (limited bottling - but that limit could be a million bottles!)
