Aqualog Special: Shrimps, Crayfishes, and Crabs in the Freshwater Aquarium, New Revised Edition

Not a book that covers neocardina or aquarium shrimp
Definitely not the best Aqualog book. I assumed it would cover more of the small aquarium shrimp like amano, bee and ghost but it did not. Most shrimp shown are not typically in aquarium trade. Even the crayfish section could have elaborated on more of the aquarium sold species and varieties. These books are German and it is possible that the shrimp shown are big in Germany. So I won’t fault the book as much as I do the description.

Terrific book
I purchased this book for my husband, who is the avid aquarist in our house. He was thrilled with it, and I'm becoming interested as well. I am finding invertebrates fascinating. It is difficult to find good, understandable books about them. This one is perfect.

Beautiful and comprehensive
Gorgeous photography and comprehensive content. I'd like to see a bit more on Bee shrimp (CRS) and there are a few typos, but regardless, I'd highly recommend it.

Good but narrow overview
I would have liked to have stories about illnesses also in the book. Also couple mistakes found. But still good value for money.

Unbeatable Fish-keeping books
All of the Aqualog books are excellent value, although they are not particularly cheap. They are full to the brim with first class colour photographs and to reproduce these in a book is an expensive process. Whether they are about Shrimps and other crustaceans, or some other species of fish they are the most comprehensive identification books you can buy. They never become dated because as new fish become available to the aquarist trade the books are updated. They do not deal with the basics of fish keeping, there are many and varied books that do that. They are in the main a fish identification encyclopaedia and nothing more. But for those aquarists who are particularly interested in a single species they are indispensable.

Crayfish.
A well produced, colourful book with lots of pics, and detail. But is expensive for waht it is, but then again there are not many books around on the subject.
