Great photos and descriptions
Best landscaping book I’ve ever had and I’ve had a few. I’m redoing some of my landscape and I have found so many great ideas in this book and plant information. Love it.

very nice for the most part
i do love the layout of this book. it even has profiles of each plant they use in the layouts they draw out. i am inspired to used some of these in my own backyard.I just really wish they had a bigger dictionary of plants to use. 5 different types of ferns is still a fern ya know?

Excellent Resource!
I purchased this to help plan the landscape of a new home and I love the way it gives you suggestions of plants based on the look you want and location around your property. It gives great descriptions of plants that go well together and that thrive in the Midwest. It has helped me identity what we already have and how to better arrange the existing plants. It also has great information on building walls, laying paths, and other gardening projects. I love having it all in one places and able to just flip open to a page rather than on a screen.

In the know
Very informative book. I am leaving my beautiful garden in California and moving to Illinois, where I can create a new one. Figured I’d get a jump on what plants do well their!

Not exactly what I expected but a good resource none the less!
Purchased this book for inspiration/ideas for an upcoming landscaping project. We live in Northern Michigan and the regional emphasis was the deciding factor for me. Was hoping for more hard scape ideas but am happy with the book anyway. The portfolio of designs includes about two dozen different "common" situations. None really matched any of my situations but the patterning and plant combinations used will be helpful in future planting bed areas as a reference. The plant profile section is very nice and gives a large variety of plants that will, presumably, work in my area. Full plant pics and thorough descriptions. The hard scape installations included are thorough and include good diagrams as well.
