The stand is pretty solid once put up and holds plenty of records, but the actual quality of the parts isn't great. The packaging of the product is probably partly to blame, very light and thin polystyrene with a few bits of plastic cover don't protect the MDF sheets very well. Bits of the black vinyl had either been chipped off, either at the factory during packaging or during transport. Not much in the way of packaging damage, so no obvious way to tell this before opening. A couple of wooden dowels were also missing, easy enough to replace but still slightly annoying. The instructions are terrible, a few pictures, you need to improvise a little.On the positive side once you work out how it should be built it's pretty sturdy, the MDF is thick and the unit feels like it should last a while. I managed to cover up the chipped vinyl with some black sugru glue, once done it looks fairly good.If there was no damage to the unit I'd have given it 4 stars, it's reasonable value and makes a good use of a small space. However, I've seen other reviews of Zomo items with similar quality issues so I think 3 stars is probably fair.
