Bought This 2nd One To Race
2 years ago I bought the earlier model of this truck for my 9-year-old. When I saw this updated “Platinum” model, I decided to buy it so we have a second RC truck to race. It’s a lot of RC car for the money. I especially like that I can use the batteries from my 20v Dewalt Drill. This RC car is a blast to drive! Very fast with the 20 volt battery! I recommend running on training mode until you get used to the car. The earlier model was a bit tricky to steer. The steering on this new one is tighter, but still takes advanced skill to control at speed. The only thing I don't like is that the charger takes a while to charge. It’s not a big deal to me, as I have 4 other DeWalt 20v batteries that fit, so we always have multiple batteries charged. In terms of quality, this truck slots between a toy store RC car and the more expensive Losi & HPI cars. Runs great, super fast, lots of powerful, good ground clearance, My kids love it. I asked my Dad to buy one too so the 3 of us can race.

Fun fast huge RC!
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. My 12-year-old son has been asking for this RC truck for months. He saw it online and put it on his wish list. This RC car is HUGE. About 2 feet long. And amazingly fast. They say 25 MPH. I believe it. I don’t know how you’d control the vehicle if it were any faster. My son is getting the hang of the steering and so far hasn’t blasted through a solid curb. He’s been running it in the park on dirt and short grass and sometimes on the dead end street. The charger is slow. But we have an extra battery from a Black n Decker drill that works as a spare. The battery lasts for 15 to 20 minutes of fast driving.Overall my son is very pleased with it. He’s become a master at high speed driving.

Directions warns in red letters not to run in grass, dirt, and water.
This is a very nice rc truck. The Dewalt battery option is sweet. On relatively smooth ground this truck would be awesome. The directions that come with it state in red letters not to run it in grass, dirt, and water. I tested it in my grass yard and dirt field. They were right it got stuck a lot. Too bad it would be a great rc truck with the cordless battery option. Returned it.

The original model was fun, this new model has addressed some of the problems.
I bought the original truck about 2 years ago, and then, in a weak moment, gave it to a friend for his grand- children. So when the itch recurred, I bought the new platinum model.A word of caution: 1/10th scale r/c cars with the features and performance this one has generally cost $300-400. To sell this car for $ 119, the manufacturer clearly had to save somewhere, so expect excellent value for your money, a lot of clever engineering, but no miracles. An intriguing feature: the car has been designed so that you can, if you wish, substitute after- market parts, such as tires and suspension parts if the stock parts don’t meet your needs. Not only a useful feature, but fun to do.One very useful feature added with this model is an over- temperature cut- off. In order to wring the absolute highest speed from the original truck it was geared too high- in brief, you could run it hard enough to burn out the motor or electronic speed control. End of fun !The new truck, if you run it too hard, shuts down temporarily. Don’t worry, it will start up again, but do heed the warning and give it time to cool off some.In summary, well worth the cost, but try to avoid hitting curbs at full speed!

Not worth the money
Was looking forward to this truck fir the battery diversity. However, its good for kids. Does not drive straight has no traction and its response time is like dial-up. I put new tires on, gained sum gription. Still decided not worth the money. The original 69$ maybe. But not the 140$. O, yeah and I preordered this. So when it arrived I was stoked. But the battery was missing. Amazon was cool and shipped a replacement in 2 days. Thank you. But it's still gonna be returned. One last thing... this truck does not come close to 30mph

"PRETTY DING DANG FAST"
Like the headline above says, this thing is "Pretty Ding Dang Fast" that's a direct quote from my 8 year old son who absolutely loved this car. He hasn't gotten it out of training mode yet it as you can see from the video this thing zips. One of the coolest things about this car is the fact you can attach your go pro to the built in attachment on top of the car. I have an older GoPro before they started making them with stabilizers but planning on upgrading so I can get some smoother shots on this. The other awesome feature is the 20V battery, what a great idea to make a car that uses our existing batteries from our drill. Cant wait to take this bad boy out again for a spin, I planning on buying another one so that we can race each other at the park. Highly recommend this RC unit.

Uses dewalt battery
Best thing with this rc is that it uses dewalt battery.Pretty fast but not screaming. Not good on dirt but very good on smooth surface

Seemed like a great idea but poor quality
I have Dewalt everything, so I tried this ready to accept a loss of power and pay a premium for the dewalt battery feature. The problem is this truck is almost 1 wheel drive, it got stuck where it really shouldn't constantly. If they had this truck as a 4x4 and had two power slots it would be powerful enough and capable enough to be awesome. I recc. avoid the headache and just get something else and get multiple batteries.
