Normally metal versions of these are used and they would probably be less flexible.I used these because they were immediately available and wouldn't rust.They are quite flexible and tended to bend themselves rather than impress themselves into the elements boards.None the less they did work sufficiently and once the scrim had been applied over them the surface was flat enough for the purpose. I actually fixed 5mm acrylic sheets over these boards and the result was excellent.
