Wow. The illustrations in this book are phomemal. The book is perfect for my montessori classroom of 3-6 year olds. Some of the world are written in cursive and others are in print. Each page has a subject such as " butterflies are creative" and then includes 2-4 fact sentences. I bought the paperback and found it easy to push the pages back to flatten the book. The 11x8 size makes the book perfect for reading to a group. I highly recommend this book.

My kids (9 and 13) both love this book. We are doing a bug unit and this week we are focusing on butterflies. I love that the inner first page shows the caterpillars in the book and the back inner pages show the butterflies in the book. That seems to be my kids’ favorite part and they really enjoy finding the caterpillars and butterflies of all the ones we read about. We are only half way through the book and my kids really are into it. It has a lot of good information as well. I would recommend this for multiple grade levels. I thought my eldest might not like it, but she surprised me.

For my good friend's baby shower, we were instructed to give books instead of cards (incredible idea by the way). Well the nursery and baby shower theme was butterflies, which is also my friend's favorite thing in the world, and I stumbled across this book.When I received it, I was so impressed! The illustrations were beautiful and something I would want my children to read when they get older. When my friend opened her gift and pulled out the book, everyone was in awe! I picked a good one ;)

This is the best books I have seen showing information on butterflies (and a page on moths) with many truly beautifully vivid and detailed strong watercolor illustrations of butterflies, moths, caterpillars, pupa and eggs (and the host plants they are on). Sure to hook anyone of any age into the breath-taking miniature world of these insects.

My kids and I study butterflies every spring. Over the years we have accumulated several books about butterflies, but this is the best. The illustrations are lovely and we learned a lot about butterflies that other kids books don’t cover. It is written in cursive, so kids that don’t read cursive would have a hard time reading this independently, but I believe the script lends to the beauty of the book.

Such a beautiful book with wonderful illustrations! It is very well made and has a lot of good information. My kids love reading it. The first page is filled with caterpillars and the last page has pictures of their matching butterflies - I liked that detail. Itcomplimented our spring/animal life cycle school curriculum. It was also larger than I imagined. I posted the book next to a 4x6 picture.

Beautifully written - I've given this as a gift to children of all ages. We recently gave it again to my youngest niece for her 3rd birthday along with a butterfly pavilion. The artwork is stunning, beautiful, vibrant and detailed. The words and definitions are clear and leave room for discussion and reduction of ideas for younger listeners while the artwork captivates their attention and wonder to hear and retain those ideas.This is an excellent series.- Check out the rest!

This is a gorgeous story and fun and informative to read to littles. The e-book version is very hard to read, even when the text is highlighted.

Gorgeous illustrations. An unusual text but the kind of book to curl up with, with a child and explore the different concepts on each page.

I've bought this for every kid I know: calming, educational, informative (even for adults) and beautifully illustrated!

It's a beautiful book. The drawings and the colours are just amazing. It's like a nice and clever short encyclopaedia for kids! Totally recommended, even for adults!
