Sunny, Vol. 4 (4)

How to describe this series?
I'm still enjoying "Sunny," though I don't know how to describe it or explain my liking of the series. Not much happens, and it would seem that Matsumoto isn't trying too hard. But he's not failing. This volume won me over (like I said, I'm not sure why) and I'll be back for vol. 5.

always enjoy reading
i always look forward to reading sunny and this book didn't disappoint. each chapter focuses on a different person in the star kid home. my favorite being the second to last chapter which introduces haruo's dad and gives more depth to his character and why he is in the home. overall great volume but sad i have to wait over 6 months for next volume...

Packaging & Quality Control Fail
Haven't read it yet, but there's no doubt that it's going to be beautiful, whimsical, and heartbreaking...The reason for the 3 stars rather than 5 is the book was delivered with black fingerprint smudges on the back cover.Part 2: The dirty smudges can be cleaned... A tear? Nope. Take away another star for another disappointment.

These are all sad stories with one being particularly heart-breaking
It's been a while since I read the last volume to this series, but I fell right into place as soon as I started this 4th volume. This is the most literary manga I've ever read and I find the story so painfully poignant. This volume has each chapter centre on a child who has to deal with the reality that their parent is a failure and either not coming back for them or if they do, it will never be permanent. These are all sad stories with one being particularly heart-breaking, but the children themselves are resilient, wise and retain their humour as children are often wont to do. Truly a lovely touching series.

All taiyo Matsumoto books highly recommended.
I had to return this as my son already has it. Refunded with no fuss by the bookseller. All taiyo Matsumoto books highly recommended.
