Reader's Digest Extraordinary Uses for Ordinary Things New Edition (RD Consumer Reference Series)

I like this book,with its practical solutions and imaginative uses for ordinary things. Ordered a few this year as Christmas gifts I will add to gift baskets. Ordered one for myself as well.

this book is useful on so many levels. can it save you money? yes. was it worth it? yes. would I buy again? yes. Do I recommend? yesIf it is from Readers Digest, you know it has had a lot of time and effort put into it. It shows in this book. I also got the second book I liked it so much.

This book is so good, I could go broke giving it away to everybody that looks at it. But I won't, instead I tell them where to get it.I thought I knew about a lot of this stuff, but not even close. Amazing resource of knowledge on uses for everyday things.Makes great reading for those times when you don't have more than a few minutes to read (use your imagination).I'm rambling, but let me say, "Buy it!". And better buy 2, 'cause first person that sees it will want one!This is an update. Had too order another for myself, as my daughter "borrowed" it for "just awhile". This is the third one I've had too order.As I said earlier, you need to order more than one!!!

This is a fun and informative book. Even paging through it is entertaining. I found the index to be helpful: When looking for a way to remove the glue left by stickers, I looked under "glue" and then "labels". Under the latter I found nine (yes, 9) different substances that you have on your shelves somewhere for other things that you can use to remove the sticky mess.If you're looking for inexpensive, ordinary things to be put to extraordinary uses, this is the book for you. (It's also just fun to read!)

Excellent buy!! especially in today's economic times...it's great to be able to find inexpensive and for the most part environmentally friendly ways to get things done around the house!!! easy to use, everything is broken down by the product and it's uses, but you can use the index in the back to look up a problem and the corresponding pages with solutions.i am very happy with this purchase, especially since i now have an excellent solution to stinky sink drains!! (baking soda and vinegar!!) there are multiple others...my mom and my best friend are already asking to borrow this!!

Love this book. Everywhere I put it down someone picks it up and starts to read and it moves to another room for another to pick up. What clever ideas for the ordinary things in your life such as all the uses for a wooden clothespin BESIDES hanging out the clothes. You will look at every item you notice in a different light after reading a few pages in this delightful book. Young and old alike will get a kick out of this colorful, fast-read book. I bought one of these books from Amazon a while ago and loved it so the last purchase was for a friend. I am sure she will find it as useful and informative as I did.There's a lot of money to be saved these days by using commonplace things like bicarbonate of soda or vinegar instead of expensive products for the kitchen and bathroom - and who doesn't need to save where they can these days?!!!It is also great if you have children or grandchildren - there are lots of interesting little 'scientific experiments' and fun things to do with ordinary things detailed throughout!A good buy.

Could probably find all the information on the internet now, but makes for a great coffee table book.
