First, let me say - the seeds are good, the size is nice, and the packaging is high quality.My chief complaint is that these seeds are not US-grown produce. The Amazon listing says "USA" multiple times, including the product description. The front label of the packaging says "WASHINGTON" and "USA" quite clearly. This is deceptive marketing, plain and simple; the seeds are actually from Israel! This is not disclosed ANYWHERE in the Amazon product page. "Grown in Israel" is only shown in very small font, at the bottom of the back label. Look at the pictures on the product page - there is no way to read what that bottom line says without having a bag in your hand.My secondary complaint is the salt level. One serving size contains 200mg of sodium. This is more than double the amount of salt found in the competitors such as Dakota, Giant, and Chinook Seedery.Overall: not the worst seed (Hi, David!) but the sodium and deceptive packaging means I won't be a repeat customer.

All the store brands I see on the shelves here (many with weird nasty flavors...) are nothing more than bird seed IMHO. I have now consumed 12 packages of South 40 Snacks sunflower seeds and I'm in love! They're huge (as they should be) and I've been impressed with their consistency, lack of stems in the packages and I have yet to find a "bad" seed in the lot. Yeah, I'm diggin' these - you got a regular customer out of me!

Discovered this product at our local Safeway but they don't seem to carry them any longer which is a bummer because when on sale they were 2 for $4. In any case, at least I can feed my addiction by purchasing on Amazon. These seeds are tasty as hell and big! Love them and can't stop eating them. My husband laughed when he saw I ordered a case of them!

I HEART sunflower seeds! I am always trying to find the one brand that hits the mark every time. The South40Snacks sunflower seed's label is what caught my eye in the grocery store. I found out they are a local brand and of course wanted to try them even more. I ate the whole bag in one sitting. They are THAT GOOD! Not only are these seeds enormous but their roasty flavor is why I couldn't stop eating them. The convenience of them being on Amazon has allowed out of state friends and family to try them out and get hooked as well. These guys have hit the mark! 5 stars for sure!

We were in Seattle on vacation and stopped at a little grocery store. They had one bag of these seeds left, we purchased them and they were the BEST we had ever had. And they are HUGE!! We went back to the store and their order had not come in yet and we were leaving for home, so as soon as we got home, we ordered a case from Amazon. Great product!!!

I found out about these seeds from finding them randomly at a gas station. And from the first taste I was hooked. I went back to buy all of them off the shelf. They are really big sized seeds and the taste is really good. By far the best I’ve had. Try them and you won’t regret it!

I generally enjoyed snacking on these "giant", original flavored sunflower seeds. Just seeds and sea salt. The shells were much larger than 'jumbo' sized sunflower seeds from other brands. The shells were generally easier to crack than typical seeds. I could definitely see myself getting hooked to these.Oddly, a giant-sized shell would often have a teeny seed inside. So don't expect seeds to match their shell size.My biggest disappointment was that way more either flat seeds, dried out seeds, funky fuzzy stuff inside the shell, over roasted seeds and/or cracked shells in each handful of seeds. These should've been caught in quality control, so it makes me think there was little to no quality control (on this batch of 6 bags, it was all the same). So, if you're the type to toss a bunch in your mouth and crack them that way, you could be in for an unhappy surprises every so often. Luckily, I like to crack them one at a time and toss the shell. This turned out to be the best way with these ... as I could do QC myself eating and know what I was getting and not end up with a weird taste in my mouth. Hopefully, these guys will up their QC game for future batches.

I very rarely review anything. These are the best sunflower seed quality out there. Blows even some of the smaller brands away. Couldn’t be happier. Wish there were different flavors. I’m a big fan of flavoring these seeds myself, so far I have made hatch chili, honey mustard, and buffalo sauce. I would love to see flavors like these in future.
