Q: why are these so much more expensive? a book of stamps is $10.

The sheet of 20 stamps are only 9.98, they are hard to find in the post office, very rare

Q: Can i still use these stamps to send letters by snail mail? does one stamp suffice? or do i need to add anything else?

Yes one should suffice. I have always used only one stamp and never had a problem. I have used a white letter size regular envelope which is not heavy. Hope this is helpful. I have personally never used snail mail but I feel one stamp should be enough because this is first class postage used across the board.

Q: how much are they worth?

They are forever stamps so the stamp value holds whatever the stamp value is. 2018 it’s 50 cents each now.
