Linens and Lace
I am delighted to have a copy of 'Linens and Lace' by Elizabeth Scofield and Peggy Zalamea. It is well written, printed on good quality paper and the photographs are excellent. There are chapters on various types of embroidery, including a chapter on Appenzell. I have not found much printed information on this type of embroidery before. It is a reference book and also the type of book to browse through while having a coffee. I strongly recommend it to anyone interested in embroidery.

Enchanting
A wonderful book of beautiful photographs with captions describing each piece and a short history of each. The chapter in the book on Maintaining The Collection is worth the price of the book alone. While I agree somewhat with the TheLinenLady that the book doesn't have the comprehensive discussions that a serious collector might be looking for, it's the perfect book for beginning collectors like me. I think it's a must for anyone who appreciates fine linen and lace.

Musings from thelinenlady on '20th Century Lace and Linens'
As a long time linen lover and now professional dealer I find this tombe to be a wonderful 'picture' book ~ but when it comes to actual informative content I feel that there are better sources ~ the information given is helpfull for the beginning to intermediate collector and the pictures are exquisite but somehow the lack of detail in the narrative portions undermines the supossed purpose of the book. To its credit the book is nicely arranged by subject but lacks a comprehensive glossary. Overall, not a bad place to start whet your appetite for knowledge about vintage linens, but if you want detailed informtion supported by anyting more than cursory research you will put the book down hungry. ~ Sincerly, Ann Christine ~ thelinenlady

Very helpful and informative reference book.
I found this book to be extremely helpful in identifying popular linen styles and items for a collector. The pictures were clear and the descriptions sufficient for my needs. This is a good addition to a collector's library.
