- Here in New Hampshire, when you lock a self-unemployed architect in the kitchen with fruit, apple cider vinegar, cane sugar, and spices you might get the birth of a New England Chutney. In this case, this is just what happened. Chutney House proprietor Tom Campbell Wilson prepares each batch of his chutney personally and in small stove top quantities. Tom grew up in Concord, attended the University of New Hampshire, and married his high school sweet heart, Cecile Jenkins. They have two daughters and three granddaughters. Looking back on his love of the chutney his mother made, Tom decided it was time to recreate this chutney. With taste testing and approval of his sisters, Wendy and Kim, and his Mom, Tom has achieved this and is now sharing his chutneys with others.
Our pepper jellies are all handmade in small stovetop batches. They are a perfect blend of sweet and hot, and are all-natural. Pepper jelly's can be used in the traditional manor as any jam or jelly, on toast or English muffins as an example. These jellies can also be used as a basting on grilled meats and poultry, and as a condiment with lamb similar to a mint jelly. However, a very popular use for pepper jelly is served on a soft cheese like a cream cheese, on a cracker as an appetizer.
