circulates air with ease and its a great conversation piece
This fan is a beast...circulates air with ease and its a great conversation piece. It looks very industrial, which i love. I would give it 5 stars, but i knocked it down a star because it makes a slight "clinking" sound when its on. Its not enough to take it down and return for a new one (i would if it wasn't such a hassle) but its just enough for me and others to notice when the tv is turned off.The other slight issue is that the black part where the blades connect is a little faded. It looks like its dirty/dusty, but its not. The black part is just not completely black. I would like to spray paint this a black matte, but again, this fan is already mounted and the work involved is more than i want to deal with. But for $600, this unit should not make noise and also not have any issues with its color.

Terrible customer service, barely bumped fan and broke, would not replace
Had fan 2 weeks, barely bumped it and fan blade broke, the part holding the blades is very thin metal. I called Casablanca and they would not replace the part, nor would they sell me the part. Terrible customer service. Also the fan was very heavy, 80lbs. Do not buy

Great buy and lots of character
Love this fan. It’s quiet and not super strong which I like so it’s not overpowering to run while talking and watching tv. Only downside is I can’t change the rotation without a tall ladder. Everyone compliments me on it.

A fat bottomed fan? You bet!
This is a very nice fan that seems positioned to compete against another high-end fan company whose name is similar to "large bottom." It comes with a wall control, has quiet operation, and looks great. I put this one in a large open room with a high ceiling because it is both eye-catching and large. I also deliberately used the downrod that came with it (about a foot and a half long) instead of using a longer downrod that I normally would install on a ten-foot high ceiling. This is because this fan is very large, and even though the blades don't carry a ton of visual weight, they do look like they might hurt you if you come too close. All the more reason to keep it up closer to the ceiling and away from people's heads. There is no light, which was somewhat disappointing, but I suspect it might hurt the overall look of the fan if they tried to add one. And the look is what you are going for here, as it is very distinctive and, in my opinion, also very attractive. It is reversible, which the manufacturer claims will help in summer (by blowing air down) and winter (by blowing air up and causing the warm air there to move around). In reality, both directions cause a breeze, which is going to make you feel a bit colder regardless of which direction it is coming from. My advice is to ignore this particular feature when choosing fans. The manufacturers tend to throw it in because it doesn't cost them much to put in a simple reversible switch even though they know it is not especially useful. The blades are clad with metal, and the increased weight of that is probably why they included a fan balancing kit. I hate trying to balance fants. It takes forever and requires fiddling with little weights until eventually everything runs smoothly enough, or it is at least late enough in the evening, to call it a day. So, I didn't balance mine, and it seems fine to me. Your mileage may vary.Casablanca is actually a division of Hunter fan, so they've been doing this for a very long time and have it down pat by now. The only thing that would really improve this fan would be to add a light. As it is, it looks very industrial, yet expensive, kind of in a steampunk way without the brass (or steam). It is a good look for a less formal area and is sure to attract attention and positive comments from guests.Recommended.Sean Logue, 2016

Steampunk Fan
First off, this fan is large, and heavy, so you will need 2 people to install it, a large room and high ceilings. I got this to put in our living room, a place we hadn't installed a ceiling fan yet the design aesthetics on this fan are super cool, somewhere in between steampunk and modern industrial. You might be concerned that a 3 bladed fan might not move enough air, but that concern would be misplaced because this thing can really push some air. I do wish it came with a light kit, and at this price point it is pretty disappointing it doesn't, which is why I deducted a star. The other feature I think is missing is a remote control; again, something included with fannb1s costing a third of this one.Despite these limitations, we love it and how it looks abd improves comfort in our home!

If you want an industrial look
This is a cool, quiet fan. My previous experience has been with a lower end -- I have four of these: Hunter 53069 Low Profile III 52-Inch Ceiling Fan with Five White Blades, White in the 42" and 52" models. The Hunter are quiet, and low profile (<14") and good for low ceilings. Creates a good circulation. The Casablanca is nearly 10x the cost, and is the opposite in terms of being visually strong. It's not form-follows-function. The design is a little absurd, with a hint of steampunk, and the rivets were deliberately showcased. It's trying a little too hard for the industrial/warehouse feel. Metal is a galvanized steel. This is not an outdoor product, so the galvanized steel is just for show. Overall quality is sturdy and serious. But that said, the semi-industrial warehouse look is nifty, if it fits your decor. These are large, the height is ~2x the low-profile Hunter, so this is for high ceilings. You need a good 2 feet just for the fan, then at least 2 feet for head and arm clearance, so for 6-foot adults, don't consider this fan unless you have at least 10' ceilings, or 9' if you like the propeller-in-arm's-reach effect. It would be a particularly good fit with high, open utility ceilings, or a residential loft.Installation itself is basically the same as any fan, and requires a fan bracket that's suitably reinforced to hold the weight for years.
