My second purchase
The first fountain lasted a year. I am using it in a birdbath. I really liked the way it performed, but water seeped in along the edges and rendered the solar power inoperable (not good). With this fountain, I sealed the edges with silicone sealant. I hope that works. The fountain performs well, pumps well, and is easy to clean. I will not likely purchase a third...UPDATE 6/2/19... the fountain died today, no water moving. I thought it was toast and was disappointed.Being a "it don't work... can't break it..." sort of a guy, I started taking the pump assembly apart. The pump assembly pops apart very easily using a small screwdriver, and breaks down into about 3 parts... an external screen, an impeller retainer and the mag-drive impeller assembly. The assembly was bound up with 'hair'... I am using this solar fountain in a bird bath and am not sure which birds have 'hair'... anyway...I cleaned the parts with a q-tip and remove the all contamination, and now it works great! If you are having problems, clean the pump assembly! This could have been my previous problem why the fountain not working, but I never explored it.My ratting goes up a notch for ease of cleaning... this is a good buy!

Not a good fit for a birdbath
Pros:1. Various accessories that make it easy to change the way the water sprays out.2. Charges very easilyCons:1. The suction cups don't work in either of the metal and glass bird baths I tried it in.2. Because the suction cups don't work it instead floats and navigates to one side of the birdbath. The water then sprays out on the sides of the bath, requiring it to be filled multiple times a day.3. It screetches LOUDLY (to where the neighbors are looking) when the vessel runs out of water.4. Doesn't work at all unless under direct sunlight.5. Poor, picture only, instructions for how to use the various tips. There are 2 sets of tips, one gray and one black set, and the only difference I can see is the color. Not sure of what the purpose is for having 2 sets.Overall these would be perfect for a larger vessel or pond that holds a lot of water. Not a birdbath.

Try to secure this in the middle of birdbath
If this sprayer is not in the middle of the birdbath it will float to the side when its windy and all the water will quickly drain out of it onto the ground. I managed to secure it by putting rocks around it. So far no birds are coming near it.

Very cool! Toddler loves it
This is very cool and has allowed me to make a little fountain out of a bucket of water. My toddler LOVES to play in this- I put it in a large plastic tub and he plays in the water that comes out of the fountain. The attachment options allow for a wide range of different heights and widths of the water expelled from the fountain. I found the one that shoots straight up high to be my personal preference. I did have an issue and the seller resolved it promptly. To be clear, it needs full sunlight to work (it doesn’t have a back up battery), so when the sun isn’t shining on it, it turns off. But as long as you understand that, this product won’t disappoint you.

ONLY WORKS IN 100% DIRECT SUNLIGHT
Either I got a defective product or these other reviews are exaggerating. This has to be in 100% direct sunlight to work, if even half of 1 of the solar panels is blocked it does not work, the shadow from the spray nozzle covers too much of the solar panel surface to work. So at noon in direct sunlight it works great, that's it.Very unhappy with this product.

Works as stated
I do like it. BUT if using in a birdbath then you need to remove the extensions...otherwise the tall water column will pump all the water out of your basin and then the pump runs dry. But without the water flow is steady but remains in the basin. Also any breeze will blow it to the side of the basin...so used in a deeper vessel without the extension does a great job... but would be great in a pond where that is not a problem

Works well in small bird bath as a "water wiggler"
We were told that birds are attracted to a bird bath when the water is moving a bit. Because this fountain pump has various included accessories I selected one that just causes a low gushing of water which works well to move the water without throwing it up into the wind and wasting it over the side. Yes, if you select the spray head it will shoot the water as high as 15 inches but I don't use it. This gadget works well but only in direct sunshine. Just remember to occasionally disassemble the pump because it can get clogged up with debris and/or algae. I use a Q-tip to clean it once I've got it apart.

Where'd the water go??
I thought this would be a fun addition to my unused backyard birdbath.I cleaned and filled my birdbath, and added this little fountain to it. Before too long I heard an odd noise outside. Upon investigation I realized it was my new fountain. The fountain had sprayed out all the water from the birdbath onto the ground and the birdbath was essentially DRY within an hour!I tried again, filling the birdbath to the top, and again before very long all the water was gone.I haven't used it since. Such a disappointment because this "looks good on paper", but in reality, it just doesn't work as it should.
