Perfect fit, perfect support, perfect price and perfect delivery
Perfect fit, perfect support, perfect price and perfect delivery. Arrived the next day in the post, no bulky packaging so fitted through letter box while I was out. I had an acute arthritic flare up in my thumb and this has given me the perfect solution, allowing the pain to settle down. It is so slimline that I can still get my leather gloves on over it, so in this snowy weather we are having I can still keep my hands warm. I can also fit my large size Marigold gloves over it so I continue to get the support I need while doing my housework, avoiding getting the splint wet.The only minor snag was when I took the metal splint out, to wash the material part, I dropped it and then couldn't figure out which way round it had to go back in. It took several uncomfortable attempts to get this right. So next time I wash it I will be more careful and use a permanent marker to identify the correct way up to insert it. Like others I have also found that the metal splint does slip out a bit, so far not too badly. I've found my own solution that doesn't involve any stitching. The hooked Velcro round my wrist was a little bit too long and overlapped the smooth part, so I trimmed it down and placed the piece I cut off as a flap from under the splint where it grips to the Neoprene material and bends round to attach to the smooth Velcro part at the base of the thumb, just above and covering the opening where the metal splint slides out. (see attached photo). Problem solved.

Sturdy and supportive
V. Sturdy. Good material. The velcro is good quality. The wrist strap is all velcro. The spine can be easily removed. Just slides out from the base of the thumb.(sometimes it slides out a tiny bit, but it doesn't affect the support)Size wise.. I bought a medium and find it a little short. My medium size measures Thumb-15 cm from the top(tip. Nail end) to the wrist. 5 cm of that is the velcro width which wraps around the wrist. (and the wrist- 22 cm (bottom, that wraps around the wrist)The velcro strap is 5 cm width. So maybe think of getting a size bigger size. So it sits clear of the hand. It's very supportive. No give.Hope this helps

Gives a bit of support
Does keep your thumb stable and in position. Prevents you from knocking it on anything as it’s protected in the support. I have taken it off for a few days but thumb still hurting. I take it off when I am preparing food/meals for obvious hygiene reasons. Also need to take it off to wash your hands otherwise it would get wet and you wouldn’t be able to wash your hands properly (Covid!)

Very good but a little difficult to put on by myself.
Using to help with Gamekeepers Thumb to replace a much larger Ossur brace which is no longer available. This brace holds the thumb ridged and is a lot smaller than the NHS supplied one. Appears to do the job it was bought for and is a lot more comfortable than the NHS supplied one. The only problem is that I need help to fasten the brace around my wrist as the velcro is a little difficult to get tight by myself. Overall very happy.

Does the job
I currently have De Quervain’s and this is giving the support I need. I need someone to help attach it to give it the best tightness which is to be expected. The only negative is the Velcro rubs on my skin as does one bit of the fabric making me skin sore. Easily fixed though by applying some micropore tape/plaster where there’s friction. I can do most tasks wearing them bar tasks which require greater thumb expansion (breastfeeding in my case). You can use it for either left or right and definitely measure your wrist first. If you are borderline measurement wise, probably go for the smaller as when it’s loose you won’t have the support you need

Amazing for the price.
Great thumb splints. I initially ordered two as advised by my doctor (in fact he sent me the link) to try them out without breaking the bank and ended up ordering another two as they did the job perfectly! I wanted four so I could wash and rotate them regularly. I would advise washing them in a separate wash bag as the velcro is very good and I imagine would catch on the rest of the load. I have De Quervain's and these splints are helping tremendously. They are not bulky which I like, as I didn't want a full sleeve support. They allow great movement of the rest of my hand whilst keeping my thumb supported and straight. I sleep in them too without any issues. The seller was very helpful with a small issue on my first order and sorted it quickly. I would recommend these 100 percent.

Very bad quality
1. The wrist strap will not stretch sufficient to loop fasten is off the skin.2. I showed it to my physiotherapist and was told that the metal is not the right shape and too hard to mould it to the shape of the thumb. The support hurts.3. The wrist strap rubs against the skin causing blisters. It is low quality strap material definitely not to be used to wrap the skin4. The seller did ask to return but the postage will cost me as much as the product to send it with proof of posting.5. Total waste of money.6. Poor design
