Lovely, but ..
I got this particularly to do calligraphy and for illumination, but it seems to not work so well with all types of ink. For example, didn’t work well with my pilot parallel calligraphy pens, like the ink was hardly drying and I had to wipe it, but with another fountain pen that holds winsor and newton calligraphy ink I had no troubles. I couldn’t tell for sure, but I’d presume it is the alcohol based ink that it doesn’t work with, but the water based inks are fine. The paper is lovely, has a smooth texture and looks antique. So beautiful in my opinion. I thought it’s also nice for watercolors !! And also great for just sketching with graphite. It’s sturdy and well made and a perfect size to carry around! So perfect for a travel sketchbook (; neither too small nor too large, not too thin nor too bulky). Overall I recommend it while keeping in mind that it won’t work with all types of ink.

Nice little notebook
As the pastor of a church, I need something in which to keep a record of baptisms, baby dedications, weddings, and funerals. These notebooks (I bought 2) are a nice size for that. Approximately 74 sheets/148 pages, 5x7-inch cover dimensions, so the pages are just a tad smaller. The paper feels good. It's a decent thickness, not thin and flimsy, but also not too heavy. Fountain pen ink seems to work with this paper. There is some ghosting, but it's minimal, and there's been no bleed-through. I also like that the pages are sewn and not glued. Not only is it a better binding, it makes these little notebooks look more professional.I may very well buy some more of these for my own personal use. I like the paper, I like the fact that I can use my fountain pens with them. Many of the fountain pen-friendly notebooks I've seen can be a bit expensive; these are a good price for what you get. I like the size okay, which is a little smaller than an A5 journal. And being that I just like vintage stuff, I like the look of the paper as well.I would recommend these little notebooks. They're not too big, they're not too small. They're a little too big to slip in a hip pocket, but easily tossed into a pack or messenger bag.The 5-star is my own personal opinion on these notebooks with the little use they get. The "Sturdiness," "Giftable-ness," and "Craftsmanship" are all 4s simply because they sit on a shelf, not seeing too much use. If I get more, I'll try to come back and revise this last paragraph.

Why double to price now?
This book has great parchment paper and I bought it when it was $6.99. That was only two years ago. The price now is now doubled at $13.99. Why? The company who makes this isn't making it anymore? This book, even though it has great paper, isn't worth buy over $7, $8 tops. Also don't need the embossed seal on the front. Just have a regular blank black cover to lower the price, you'll get more people to buy, including myself.

Love this journal
I love this and I use it as a manifestation journal. This is compact enough to fit in my purse and it’s pretty sturdy. As a previous reviewer mentioned this isn’t completely a hard cover...more of a medium cover. The pages are nice and thick. When I purchased mine it was $6.29 and now it is $11.99. Although I LOVE IT I think $11.99 is too much and I doubt at that price I’d repurchase.

Quality Non Perforated Journal
I bought this notebook to use for practising calligraphy and the paper is a perfectly strong, thick quality to deal with the inks/nibs used. At one point I'd wanted to possibly use the paper for a condolence letter, however there are no perforations and the sturdy sewn binding doesn't allow for easily tearing away a single sheet. This is not a gripe, just an observation. I'm happy with the purchase, the cover is nice and a band place marker is attached.

Beautiful Notebook!
I was very impressed with this notebook just from the description and photos online, but it wasn't until I received it that I fell in love with it. The paper is sturdy beautifully designed. The cover is solid and resistant to bending, and the embellishment on the cover is nice and clear. Additionally, ink sets on it very well with no bleeding or fading. 10/10 would purchase again.

Love this notebook!!!!
I absolutely love this notebook. It's very sturdy, I adore the parchment paper. The pen ink does not bleed through each paper. Best notebook I ever bought.
