Q: How does this attach to stay wire?

I used several wraps of 18ga ss seizing wire through both top and bottom eylets at the ends and mounted them just above the upper spreaders on my double spreader rig.

Q: How do these attach to the stay wire? Am i supposed to use a zip tie or wire? Why isn't there a bracket that fits the teeth of the end caps?

Don't really know the answer to your question about the bracket, but we screwed ours to a pole to use in our row boat as we are often in the ocean and the fog comes up at the most inconvenient times. I would think zip ties, rope or wire would work.
