What can I say, metal construction, stereo, independent volume control, light weight, and still allow some outside sound through so you don't get hit by a car or attacked by a rattle snake while beeping.

Generally, these are pretty good cheap phones. They had apparently had a hard knock during shipment and it eventually caused a problem. The speakers fit in clips inside each earpiece; no sweat unless they get hit just right and apparently that happened. They worked fine until a couple weeks ago, then I lost most audio from the left earpiece. I got a chance to open them up today, and found the speaker just floating around inside the earpiece. That would have been a problem eventually, but that is not what caused the audio loss. I examined the wiring and gently pulled the wires (very carefully, this wire is fragile) one of the wires came off of the terminal. When I magnified the wire and terminal, I discovered that there was a bad solder joint. (cold joint) So, using a low wattage soldering iron and a very steady hand, I carefully fixed it. No big deal unless you don't know how to diagnose or fix this stuff..... The audio is fine now and it should stay that way for a long time. Cheap phones are ok- sort of like cheap sunglasses. If you tear them up or lose them, well, you didn't lose a set of Bose or Ray Bans!

I have two of these, that are used for different metal detectors. I have had one pair for over a year without any problems or complaints. The individual volume control for each ear cuff is a great feature to have. I can wear these for hours on end without discomfort while detecting. The sound is crisp and clear, just what you need when listening for tones. I liked them so much that I ordered another for my new detector. Outstanding performance and a great product. These work well for what they are for...blocking environmental sound, providing a good sound to your ears from the detector, individual volume controls.What I don't like is that they are bulky, hot, and sweaty, and if your eyeglasses are behind your ears, your ears will hurt when you are done! Also, if you use a pinpointer (I recommend the Garrett ProPointer), you will be taking these off and puting them back on constantly.So...they work well, but I wish there was a better solution. I have ordered an adaptor so my iPod headphones will fit...only problem is, I won't have any volume control (no, your iPod headphone volume control controls your IPOD, and will not control the detector). Maybe I can just pull the headphones out of my ears a little bit. I am also thinking perhaps the batteries might last longer with ipod headphones??? I will try to remember to update my review when I get my adaptor.

I liked everything about these headphones except for the fact that one side of the set was dead, despite all efforts to adjust.

I only gave these 4 stars instead of 5 because 1) they are my first set of metal detecting headphones so I have nothing to compare them to yet, and 2) if I were building my own tough as nails set I could see how to make them more durable. That is not to say they are fragile. They are field worthy for sure, just would want to REALLY mistreat them. Otherwise:They look great, they work beautifully, they are comfortable, and the price was right! USA made also, so I'm guessing the wiring is heavier guage and the circuitry is better (though i haven't seen inside it). One of the biggest liabilities of the Chinese crap is the scrawny wires and substandard guts you cant see at a glance. These 'feel' like to they have substantial internals.very happy so far with these headphones!

My wife wanted to take up this hobby of digging up cleaned and everything on the beach and to make this work she had to have something that wasn’t too heavy but work with the volume control. She really got into it and I should have attached a photo of her on the beach which would make Every Golddigger proud LOL

Arrived in the time stated the quality looked good but I have used it twice and now the volume has stopped working so I can't use it had to buy a set from another company.

Loved them.
