My 1st Pair of Chacos: The Perfect Outdoorsy Shoe!
I wear a 9.5 in women's sneakers. Since they do not offer half sizes, I did what the Internet recommended and ordered a size down. The first time I tried them on, I was a bit iffy because they're all but the exact size of my foot. However, I have high arches and the shoe felt right where it was supposed to be. I actually bought these for a deep sea fishing trip because I didn't want to stand around in wet socks and sneakers or possibly trip with flip flops. After 6+ hours of standing, I was surprised that my feet weren't sore at all! The straps are easy to adjust and even come with diagrams to make adjusting much quicker. I would recommend these shoes for most outdoor activities: fishing, floating down the river, camping, etc. And be prepared for hilarious tan lines! Mine are faint for now, but I plan on working on that this summer. These are my first pair of Chacos...and will not be my last.

Cute but uncomfortable, and prone to changing shape at inopportune times
In theory you can adjust these any way you'd like. In practice, it means any time you slip your footwear is suddenly reconfigured, usually in ways that are pretty uncomfortable. I've been stuck multiple times in public, where I had to sit down and take my shoes off and spend 3 minutes fussing with them in order to be able to walk again. Pretty embarrassing. My Keens are on the dorky side, but I'm happy to hike in those for 8 hours. I can't stand walking in my Chacos for more than 45 minutes at a time. But they are quite cute...

Dream-Worthy Once Broken In
I purchased these late last fall for a mission trip to Haiti. I needed a good, quality sandal for walking on uneven terrain and I’d heard great things about Chacos. When I first got them they were not the dream-worthy fit that everyone raves about but I stuck with them and continued to adjust the straps and wear them on walks in the park near my house until it snowed and I couldn’t anymore. I wore them in Haiti and they did the job. I began wearing them again once the weather warmed up here in Minnesota and now I understand the hype... they’re broken in better and the straps are properly adjusted and I love them SO much. I wear them for hiking as well as for walks in town on my lunch break. I love that I don’t have to worry about mud or water as they’re very resilient and they dry quickly when wet. I also wear them casually to bonfires, out to lunch, etc. I actually just ordered a men’s version for my husband so that he can get on the Chaco train also.

Toe stranglers
I will be exchanging these for the ones without the toe strap, as that ruined these sandals for me. I adjusted these several times to fit my foot, but the toe straps kept tightening after walking for a short bit, and felt like it was starting to cut the circulation off in my toes. The shoes are comfortable if it weren't for that strap trying to strangle my big toes.

Wide feet review
I am a size 10 and have wide feet, so I was a little nervous about ordering. I think they fit well, but they are a little difficult to put on and adjust all the straps. But once adjusted they fit really well. An 11 would be way too big. They are extremely comfortable and I just love the look of them. Excellent buy and quality.

Awesome, but heavy
I really love these sandals. After around a week of wearing them daily, I've learned a few things about them. At first, they felt extremely heavy. If you are used to foam flip flops or really light hikers, you might feel the same. It didn't take long to get used to the weight though, and it is comfortable now. The arch support is similar -- noticeable at first but I acclimated quickly. The colors are as shown. The buckle straps hang down, but you can find a trick online to tie them and fix that. The heel strap is pretty loose, but the others are all adjustable. I find that the big toe loops are uncomfortably tight when I first put them on, and I just adjust after slipping them on to the foot. One interesting thing to note: these sandals are highly uncomfortable when sitting on the ground cross legged because the plastic buckle digs into the foot.

Not for FLAT FEET 😢
Let me start by saying that I love these shoes! I love that the straps adjust at three different places on my foot. I love the quality and sturdiness. I normally wear a 7.5 so I ordered a 7 and it fit perfectly . I really wanted to keep these shoes but I am very flat-footed and I found the deep contouring around the arch and the high arch support uncomfortable. This is due to my foot spilling out over the sides in the arch area. I call it “the splooch” and it happens with a lot of shoes because of my flat feet (see pictures). The footbed is more rigid than it looks, not bendy, which contributes to my splooch problem. The other attribute I didn’t love was how thick and heavy the sole is, almost clunky, but that’s a matter of taste and what you plan to use them for. My size 7s weighed 1 lb 5.3 oz. By contrast, my size 8 Nike running shoes weighed 14.4 oz.I have ordered the Chaco Zvolv X2 because they claim to have less contouring, lower arch support, thinner sole and be lighter. I don’t plan to hike in them so they should be perfect.

Disappointed/ probably returning
I'm pretty upset I paid good money for these and overall the looked great but when I put them on the left shoe straps were so tight I couldn't fit my big toe in and the right shoe the straps were very loose! I was able to pull the stapping on the left shoe out a bit to make it fit but still don't know if it's fitting the way it should and the right side is still so loose

OK but not sure I'd buy another pair
After reading other reviews, I took a chance on these. They have a lovely tough sole, but unfortunately, that meant quite a break in period. They hurt my feet quite a bit during the initial 2 weeks I had them. By the end of my vacation, they were feeling more comfortable, but still not as comfortable as I would like. The adjustments of the straps is also a bit complicated and requires a bit of fussing with. I think they will be OK over time, but not sure I would buy another pair due to the break in issues.
