CressiTao Adult Snorkel, with Purge Valve and Silicone Mouthpiece

I sustained a severe back injury 4 years ago with residual pain. I learnt how to swim recently and the only stroke I could do well was the front crawl. I read online that doing front crawl can cause pain if you have an underlying condition, many people recommended using a snorkel. Despite all physio I have weakness in lower back and legs and struggled with getting a good kick.Now how is this relevant?Well, this snorkel is AAmmmaaazing. I am able to focus on my kicks and positioning of my arms without having to worry about my breathing. I can really feel my legs and back working too now. My kicks are long and smooth, from my hips rather than my knees. Before when I was coming up for air, my legs flailed and I couldn't get a rhythm going. With this, i swim continuously without having to hyperextend my lower back. So this has helped with my technique as well as confidence.As a new swimmer, I looked at a lot of products before choosing this one. Firstly its Cressi, I have other products made by them and they have never failed to deliver. This is easy to use, readily clipped on to my swim goggles and the mouthpiece is comfortable. Be sure to use it on the left side of your mouth its designed that way historically. At no time did I have any issues with water coming in - I completed 50 laps. So it's greatI use a nose clip when swimming also. I find it helps too.I used standard swim goggles not snorkelling ones and when using this the first time water entered after a couple of laps. Today I tightened the straps both sides (on my goggles) and have not had a problem since. I did think that swimming in the pool with this on would earn me a few weird stares but no one really cares. When used with fins this will give you a good workout.Recommend this product. It's affordable and reliable.

The media could not be loaded.  I bought this to replace a much older rubber snorkel. The Cressi Tao professional Snorkel is ideal for snorkelling but as it only has a splash guard and no splash guard valve not great for Scuba. I personally prefer this type as I have had valves stick on me. It has a purge valve which makes it easy to drain water with your head slightly tilted back at the surface. The mouthpiece is made of soft silicone and is very comfortable in use. The main pipe is plastic and has a quick release clip for detaching/attaching to your dive mask. The Cressi Dry also sold on Amazon is suitable for both scuba and snorkelling.

Not what I expected. Went in the bin but most likely my fault. A cheaper one may have been better for me.

Great snorkel, as you would expect from Cressi. I have taken this around the world with me and it has never let me down.

This thing rocks. Hugely reduces water entering the snorkel while swimming in open ocean with waves etc. Easy to purge. I especially like the easy remove clip to connect to your mask.
