Got this for myself to use as a reference. Not using this as a coloring book so as not to mess with the integrity of the designs. It's really hard to find information about the clothing of different ancient Celtic cultures and even harder to find quality visuals. As an artist who's been desperately trying to find references for ancient Ireland and Scotland clothing wise, this is an incredible resource! And really affordable too. Love it <3

Lots of great info; the pictures are also SO beautiful and well done. I don’t color the pages since I don’t want to mess with the integrity of the designs.

There are costume reference books for me. I won't be coloring in them. If I do want to play with color, I will make a copy of a page so I don't mess up the original. I find the line drawings very interesting and like that the pictures cover different social classes.

As a warning - I recommend getting colored pencils. There is a LOT of small details that only a color pencil will work.Good on giving a little history - my only complaint is that, like many books, is skips the Welsh who were also Celts ... you may know some of the names ... like Merlin, King Arthur, etc. But I kinda expected that anyway. Other than that, it is a GREAT book!

Besides being a coloring book, this is a great historical reference. There is very little about the historical Celts for this age. Even more so, the fashion for this age. This book really fills a need in this area. This book has very detailed realistic pictures for men, women, and children. It covers Celts from different regions and time periods. Highly recommend.

I was very impressed by the quality of this product, and my girlfriend was excited to receive this as a gift. Very detailed images and a small history lesson on each page.

covers a huge timeline of clothing. great for learning by coloring. there is enough detail for older children,and surprise at how ancient celts accomplished what they did with their resouces

This Is a book I like for teaching and don't make students bored, its a brief fun way to go through a little bit of celtic fashion history. its a perfect size and content is simple and easy.

Another excellent Dover Fashions product, beautifully illustrated, making it fun to learn about that period.

Lots of inspiration for artwork based on the Celtic Deities.

Very well documented, I wished there were more illustrations. But I loved the fact that they have an introduction to the history of celts and they describe indumentaries through different periods and locations. This is very helpfull for artists.

one side only printing would make this whole series of books a 5 star buy
