Cooking the Wild Southwest: Delicious Recipes for Desert Plants

Delicious and her methods are easier!
I really like this book. I bought it because we have such an abundance of prickly pears growing in our yard, and it seemed like such a waste not to use them. I've used prickly pear recipes to make jam before, but her method of cleaning them to make syrup was so much easier! And I only got stuck twice, which is really awesome! The prickly pear sangria is fabulous and I'll make that a lot. I look forward to trying her other recipes. Recommend!

The ultimate in eating local
Living in the southwest, this book was a delight in several ways. It helped me hunt and harvest wild plants, then provided recipes. No longer need I watch local mesquite tree pods fall and find them a nuisence - grind them into flour and make some great pancakes. Prickly pears, tomatillo, native beans, all now add a variety to my diet.

This is an awesome book . It arrived on time and in great condition. It was worth the money and can not wait until the prairie across the street comes alive with plants.
