Magical Delights (Published in Czech as Carovne Lahodnosti) II. edition, Hardcover - 2019

This is the first, in a series of four (thus far) that Czech artist Klara Markova offerred. I became interested in Klara's work after watching several YouTube videos coloring book hauls & seeing others doing magnificent coloring in them. I was so attracted to her pictures that I broke down and bought 3 directly from the artist's online shop & Magical Delights, when it became available on Amazon.com. If I had not been so impatient, I would have waited until they were all on Amazon! The drawings are pen and ink, whimsical & fun! Each page will bring a smile to your face. Purchasing each book gives you the opportunity to watch Klara's artwork grow as she develops her fairy characters & their friends. From elves to dragons, bats to bunnies this book offers many hours of coloring entertainment!This is a very good quality coloring book! It is hard bound with a sewn in binding.The pages are thick, smooth, & slightly shiney. I'm able to get several layers of color on the page & blending is a dream. Technically, the pages are single sided. The back of each page contains one of several, small, repeating pictures and room to write names, dates, media used, or it could be used as a diary of sorts!The pages are not perforated.I suggest using cardstock between the pages, to absorb any bleed through of alcohol markers. There may not be any, depending on how long you hold a marker tip in place, or however many layers of marker you use. By putting a piece of cardstock in place, print transfer is prevented, leaving clean areas to write upon.Colored pencils work very well with this book, as I said before layering is easy. Remember to use light layers of color, building depth of color with each layer. If you press too hard, you will burnish your page.Gel pens work very well. Allow a few moments for the ink to dry before touching the area or closing the book. I give a 24 hour cure time before I close the book.Pastels can be used easily.I have seen others use watercolor pencils, pens, & traditional paints, as well as acrylics in these books. I recommend using just enough water to move the color around, but be sparing. I've seen others use a clear gesso product before using watercolor paints. Metallic paints truly POP on these pages.India ink works extremely well too!I recommend using the following erasers, being careful not to ruin the tooth of the page: Tombow Mono, Ohuhu battery operated, & Prismacolor kneaded.I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys coloring & smiling!

This is the second book of hers that I have bought. The characters are wimsical and well drawn. Being a hard cover, my intent is to finish it and gift it to my granddaughter but it doesn't matter because I thoroughly enjoy the books as a coloring exercise. . She has become one of my favorite artists and the quality of the paper lends itself to not just pencil but watercolors.

I’ve fallen in love with this artist’s books. If you love magical , floral, and nature pages to color you will not be disappointed! The quality of paper of these books is really good. I only wish each picture had a blank back to avoid any bleeding from my markers ruining the next picture on the back

Love the graphics and look forward to many relaxing evenings using this book. perfect fit for a carry on to take on a flight and with the hard back cover great for travel
