Surprisingly Comfortable
I bought these for student use at my HEMA/fencing club. They're fairly bulky as "plain" gloves go, but the added protection is worth it. The hard plates on the knuckles help a lot when you've got a sword coming for your hand. What struck me most, though, was just how comfortable they were (provided you've got the right size). I don't *feel* like I'm wearing armored gloves with these on, rather that I just have on a pair of padded gloves that maybe have a little tug across the back of the hand.

Stay away
Got the large set. Fit great, until I tried to make a fist. Tore the stich in on one of the fingers. They sew the knuckle guards like inside the glove and take up any room for said knuckles. They ended up bruising my hands instead of protecting them, oh the irony. A friend with smaller hands tried mine on. His hands didn't fit the glove well, but the knuckleft guards still scrapped against his own. So it's not the size choice but the shotty craftsmanship that's the problem.

nice gloves
I bought them for winter riding, as it's difficult to find non vented gloves in northern Florida. They fit the bill quite nicely. After 20 min with some saddle soap and water, they were very well broken in and very soft. There is no padding in the palms, so control is not effected, and lite padding for the back of the hand makes ample insulation for our frigid 50 degree mornings.

Good Gloves.
The gloves were good. They worked as advertised.

One Star
The quality is general, also be worth 10 a few dollars.

tough?
these gloves i thought would be tougher, sad. Still very nice gloves, I use them for sword fighting, bike riding, slappin sucka's etc, but not the gloves if you are looking for slash resistance or any kind of ballistic defense.
