Classic bicycle bell sound, easy to use, and loud enough to be heard without startling anyone.
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. We installed this bell on an E-Scooter and it works very well. It's loud enough to alert people you are there without startling anyone. Installation was easy and took less than a minute. Our only concern was if the size of an e-scooter handle bar had as much of a diameter as regular bicycle handle bars. It worked great and sounds great. You can hear this bell in our video. Be safe, see and be seen when riding.

Don't believe their description
I bought this primarily based on the description and the fact that, somehow, it had a lot of good reviews. This does NOT have a "crisp" ringtone, and it can only be heard clearly indoors when testing. The mechanic design of the bell creates its own counter-intuitive dampening of the sound, so no, it is not crisp or loud. In wooded areas, the sound doesn't carry well at all. You need to be almost right up to someone ahead of you in order for them to hear. Not good. The dimensions listed for the device are not accurate and do not include the length of the ringer. The device, as a whole, is way too large. The design of the device appears to not have taken into account the presence of gear shifts and/or brakes. The size is such that you cannot maintain grip the handlebar and ring the bell simultaneously. This can be dangerous on uneven or bumpy surfaces. The bell I purchased was intended to be used by the left hand, but for the aforementioned reasons, the only way to position the device in a manner that would allow for simultaneous grip of the handle, while ringing the device, was if I installed the bell on the right side of the handlebar with the bell facing me, for a downward motion on the thumb. This only created further sound dampening, as the bell was aimed behind me, rather than in front. The materials and construction of the bell is not good either. Yes, the bell is made of aluminum, but most of the device is plastic. Plastic does not resonate. The only redeeming quality is that it was easy to install, even if the size and design of the device did not lend to practical positioning.Don't buy this bell. Buy one that is made purely of metal, with a smaller physical footprint. Pay a little more.

Plastic parts inside
It took 7 days for the bell to stop functioning. The handle would no longer return to its original location. I opened up the bell to discover all the pieces are plastic except for the spring and the washers. The main issue with this bell is the plastic gear between the triangle gear (connected to the spring) and the washer spinner. The plastic gear continues to come loose which stops the triangle gear from returning to its original place. It was $8 and I didn't expect much but, I did expect it to function for at least a month or two.

Heavy duty
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. I ordered the gold/yellow one. It gives a very loud, crisp ring. It’s easy to use unlike some other bells this price that get stuck. For the price, it’s pretty heavy duty and I don’t think it’ll break easily. It should be simple to install. It looks like I just need to loosen the screw and slide it on. The plastic circle part (second picture) stretches pretty far Incase the handlebars are too wide.

A bell without equal.
This thing sat on my counter for weeks after I initially ordered it before I finally installed it on my sons bike. The morning after I installed it I found to my horror that someone stole my son's bike (and the seat off my bike, but that's another story). I understand correlation does not equal causation, however:Bike exists months without bell: Bike is still there when I wake up every morning.Less than 24 hours of bike WITH bell: Gone as soon as the sun goes down.I see no reason to think that this happened for any other reason than even bike thieves in Seattle recognize a great bell and will steal the entire bike (and a seat, but that's another story) to get their hands on it.

love this bell at first. Now not so much
Purchased blue color matched perfectly with the blue on rims. Easy to installTook about five minutes. Once installed bell lever seamed to get stuck and would not completely return. Sprayed a tiny bit of lubricant in lever mechanism. Works perfectly now. Unlike the one ding bell that came with bike this bell has a friendly ring that doesn't startle pedestrians and is just loud enough to hear when approaching from behind. P.s had bell less than 1 month. Bell no longer works .while using bell on last bike ride spring came out of bell and stop working. Had to resort to verbal warning when approaching people from rear on bike path. Very disappointed..

Nice and LOUD!
Works great and is a good match for my townie bike! I ride a bike/walk path every morning and so glad to finally have a way of letting people know I am coming from a distance . This bell is loud and travels further than my voice saying ‘on your left’ that I usually have to use. I ordered the bell and lights for riding after the sun goes down since living in the desert means temps are already high by 6 am. Have to ride before the sun is up once summer is officially here and the bell and lights will really be important!

Loud, easy to use
My son is a beginning biker and we live in an area that are full of trails--and full of people using them. I wanted to get him a loud bell that says, "KID PASSING YOU!" This bell does the trick. It has a loud, old-fashioned sounding 'ring ring' instead of a polite bell sound.I tried it out at work and scared the heck out of several of my co-workers. Watch out trails, this bell is on the way.
