Fine for daily use
I purchased this for an emergency or power outage, but ended up carrying it with me daily and have been using it for about 6 months. It does take overnight for the device to fully charge with the wall outlet, but the charge does last when the device is not in use, and will charge my phone multiple times before the device needs re-charging. I’ve tried the solar charge feature, but leaving it in the Florida sun just a couple of hours doesn’t seem to charge it much, so based on that, it may take a whole day to charge up the device with solar power. I gave it 3 stars because 1) sometimes it malfunctions where the “blue charging lights” stay on when the device is not in use, and then it doesn’t want to charge anything. The only way to “reset” the device is to plug it into a wall charger. Well, that defeats the purpose of using this as an emergency charger when there’s no power if it malfunctions. 2) it will usually charge my phone until about 70%, then stop charging on its own. Not sure if this is to “conserve” some of the device charge, but it can be a little annoying. So I have to keep an eye on it and hit the “charging button” again to continue until the phone is at 100%. 3) it weighs about twice as much as my phone, so it weighs down my purse. But for the price, it does the job 95% of the time, and it also charges my phone pretty fast, so as long as it doesn’t malfunction during a power outage, it’s fine for every day use.

Solar Charging
For a power pack it works well. I charged the unit to a full charge with the USB cable. Then charged my phone twice. One light went out indicating 50 to 75% of power left. I was very pleased. Then I placed it in the direct sunlight to see how long it would take to charge it back to a full charge. After about five days and approximately 29 straight hours in the direct sunlight, nothing. Still only indicates three lights. I still have it in the sunlight, but I'm losing patience fast. I asked the manufacturer at which point should I decide it is a defective unit. Haven't heard back yet. But on re-reading the outstanding reviews, I noticed the good ones all came from the 2500 mAh not the 1500 as I have. curious!UPDATE: I have to admit the company kept in touch with me and after 35 hours of charging in the sun with no results, they offered me $15.00 refund and I can keep the unit. So I agreed. Then I gave up trying to charge the unit by the solar panel and plugged it in to the cable charge. BLIP, it was fully charged. So the solar charge does work, it just didn't indicate it on blue lights until I plugged it in. So now I don't know how long it took to charge about 50% to 25%. But at least it worked and will be great for emergencies.

Strong charger, rugged too
Updated rating: The company could not send me an exact replica of what I ordered so they quickly sent me an upgraded version to try. It works wonderfully! Not sure what was wrong with the first one, but the company came through in the end. Holds many charges for my Android. Very happy with charger. I was impressed with the company's willingness to replace what does not work. The first unit I purchased...Bought this for an 8 day family trip into the Boundary Waters, thought this would be wonderful since we were relying on our phone cameras for the trip. Charged it the first time as directed. Ended up charging our two Android phones 3 times in all, then it ran out of charging power. Due to the extreme sun, I didn't pay close attention to the blue lights..just hard to see. Noticed it stopped charging our phones and it was down to 1 blinking blue light. Essentially, after day 3, we were unable to take any more photos, as the charger would no longer self-charge in the sun. It needed to be plugged back in itself in order to charge more. Dumbest thing I ever heard of. Useless, unless close to home to recahrge the thing. I read the reviews and was confident it would be great, next time I will get another brand.

So far I love it.
Just received this today and so far so good. It came 75% fully charged already when I took it out of the box. Only got to use it once today, so can’t really tell you about it too much. I charged my phone up to 100% and took around 2-3 hours. When you are close to any daylight the battery senses it and the green light turns on. I only used 2 dots of battery power so far. Looks and feels pretty heavy duty. Comes with a hook attached to battery and also has big flash light lenses. Tested everything out and so far everything works fine. Going to be using it more often now due to a trip coming up. That shall be the real test.

Count On Their Customer Service
Took it on a 17 day river trip down the Grand Canyon. It looks the part. Rugged build. Rubberized port cover. But it barely charged despite sitting in the sun for hours. Six of us had a variety of different solar chargers. The only ones that worked decently were multi panel chargers. Perhaps it has a thermal cut-off because, being black, it got very hot in the sun. TIP: if the sun is your only energy source, buy more panels, size matters when you're harvesting energy. The company's customer service was very responsive and offered to replace or refund my purchase. I would rate their customer service five stars, but the charger I used simply fell short. I purchased mine because of all the great reviews. Not sure of the discrepency between my experience and other customers'.

Works well for all my mobile needs.
I purchased this solar charger for (predominately) charging my iPhone 7+ while camping, hiking, at the beach, etc. I had trouble at first but this company’s customer service is awesome about communicating and correcting any issues. Apple has this problem with requiring some ridiculous proprietary charging cable. Aftermarket (Apple) cables don’t work at all with the solar charger. But It does charge my other emergency charge devices. Works fine with my JBL flip 2. Even charged my e-cig. It doesn’t charge my Apple Watch though. So if you’re buying this for an iPhone just make sure you use the original charging cable. Maybe even one from and older iPhone as I found that worked best. For the price, I’d say go ahead and get one or even a couple of these solar charges for outdoor activities and even emergencies. I’m happy enough with the device and the great customer service that this is a purchase I can recommend.
