Precision Pet Courtyard Kennel Silver Crackle

I got my Precision Pet Courtyard Kennel on time thru Amazon. Box was dinged but everything was there. It was simple as can be to set up - no tools only able body to put the pins in the connecting panels and there you go. I saw these at AKC events and when I went back to the vendor to check the price, a person was walking away with it already most likely bought for their show dogs. So, price was a little steep for me buying this thru Amazon, but compared pricing to other known pet stores; Amazon IMO was a better deal. It seems to be made pretty good and like the dark greyish color tones. I wouldn't say excellent, but Precision is usually a good company for animal crates and kennels. I bought this for I raise Doberman Pinscher puppies and this can be used indoors or outdoors. I like the many options for use of this kennel. For one, the difference is that the longer connecting pins are used for outdoors so they go into the ground some. The shorter pins are for inside the home. At this stage it is serving my purpose of the puppies for temperary confinement while I do my daily clean up of their pen. I also like the idea that you can add panels too. (those too can be pricey but might be better off weighing another kennel to connect together or just buy the extra panel sets they sell to make this kennel a little bit bigger.) I am please to have another holding kennel for my dogs and puppies.Remember this is not a perm. kennel like cyclone fence kennels. This is a temperary holding kennel when you need time out, and can watch your pets, or camping or have guest in home and need a place for your pets while you have guests. Do not leave unattended for extended periods of time.One thing I did notice when taking it back down, that the plastic insert in each panel to hold the pins, came out of a panel, and one of the puppies found it and chewed it a little but did not damage it this time. Those secure the pins firmly so the panels don't wobble.Update: Precision sent me a few replacement inserts when I emailed them for replacement of the plastic pins.Update: For safety precautions, take off collars so they won't accidently catch on the pins, and possibly choke your pet. Also, for puppies, do not put smaller puppies that can get their heads or jaws thru the squares if too young. While raising Dobermans and with cropped ears, they find ways to get into trouble and get those taped ears jammed resulting in them screaming. Also they can get their mouths stuck in the squares and panic too. (yes it has happened to my puppies but luckily we were there).

We own two of these. We bought the first more than a decade ago. We have medium sized dogs, two of which are super-active and can jump (Sheltie & Miniature Schnauzer).There are two sets of pens that hold the sections together. One set is longer, and can be anchored in earth. The other set is shorter and better for indoor use.The thing is really sturdy. It has held up through 5 dogs (we had dogs pass & replaced with pups now full grown). Putting it together is a breeze.It will rust if dogs pee on it (an issue with puppies and elderly dogs) - but the rust is minimal. I think if you left it outside it would start rusting.It is somewhat heavy, but once you open the package the weight is divided by the 6 panels. I've seen the exact same pen used at college football tailgates. You can move and transport it, but it is bulky and somewhat heavy.We bought the second one for a vacation home to avoid transporting the first one back and forth. The door works well, it is very sturdy, and has held up with very active dogs.Highly recommended for what it is.

Five stars for the product itself - we bought one originally to check the quality, then bought another because we were very happy with the quality and wanted a larger pen for our puppy! They fit together perfectly, were easy to assemble, and I love that it comes with two lengths of stakes (we’ve only used the short because it’s on brick but we will likely use it on grass at some point). We went with this one over others because we have a large breed and these looked tall - which they are! They are also heavy and feel sturdy. I’m overall seriously impressed with this product. My one complaint: the box was a total disaster when it came here, ripped to shreds and holes it in - so a couple stakes were missing/seriously bent. We substituted one of the long stakes for the missing short one, so it will work fine for our purposes... Despite the missing stake, I would absolutely recommend this product - it is by far the best I’ve seen of its kind.

The Precision Pet Courtyard is a perfect size match for my narrow side yard. Easy to assemble. Sturdy/heavy pieces. Had a hard time getting all the pieces to perfectly align on the top. That's why I did not assign 5 stars. Perhaps because I was setting up in pea gravel at a slight slope. Or, perhaps operator error. Or, maybe the hinges were a little off on each piece. So it doesn't have that super streamlined look, but everything fit, and this product serves its purpose with plenty of room for my mini poodle.

I searched for weeks for an exercise pen but was disappointed with all the cheap kennels. This one caught my eye because each panel is framed with sturdy square tubing. The finish is elegant and the craftsmanship of the cage is better than I expected. It went together in less than 5 minutes and was a cinch. I especially like the walk through door that opens only the upper two-thirds of the panel, preventing the "escape" at my feet like other walk-thru doors on kennels. The latch on the door is small and unreliable. I will have to supplement it with something else, as jiggling and shaking can loosen it open. I'm not sure how it will do in the long run but it is well worth the money now.Update:I have had it for more than a year now and have added panels to expand it. My dog has outgrown it, however, it is perfect for keeping her OUT of my garden. It still looks as good as the day I bought it. I can configure it it many ways, and it's tough. Worth EVERY penny!Update, April 17, 2012I have wired 1/4" hardware cloth to each panel and converted it to a chicken coop/pen. My dog outgrew it and my chickens have demolished all chances of gardening. The panels show some rust, but nothing bad. It has never been stored under dry cover and has been used assembled with a flat roof covered with a foot of snow. After 2 years of neglect and abuse, they are as sturdy as the day I bought them. LOVE this kennel! I'd buy another complete kit just for another door.

This pen works great. I bought it to make a pen for my dogs when we go in the RV. I did buy one set of extra panels. Good quality and easy to put together. They panels are light to carry as long as you aren't trying to carry them all at once.

Easy to assemble, nice height, and great width to each panel. Door has magnetic stopper so it doesnt freely swing in and out if left open. Used for Great Danes. Best exercise pen on the market imo. Don't waste money on cheaper versions that are flimsy and dont stand on their own.

I bought this so my dogs can be together when I have to leave them. It is like a little room within a room. They cuddle up when they want to. They have their toys an beds and seem quite content.This is a well made item. I plan on using it at the cottage as well, outside to keep them safe. I like that it has poles for inside and outside use.

Love this item, it is great for indoors or outside.Nice looking, sturdy and works great for a litter of pups. Mom can get in and out easily.
