The lamp fired up just fine, can't say about the durability
generic replacements do not last as long as the pricier units, but I was using it to troubleshoot what turned out to be an unrelated problem. The lamp fired up just fine, can't say about the durability, but the accepted wisdom is these don't last as long as the OEM rated replacements. If my TV hadn't decided to die a light engine death, it would have been handy to keep as a temporary spare without having $100 bucks tied up in a spare OEM lamp. I'm sure they're just fine, but it's a given they last only about half as long. Ofc YMMV and that's just my opinion- I never was able to put longevity to the test. As far as a drop-in replacement goes, it fit in the bay and fired up flawlessly. The main problem I have with these generics, opposed to true OEM style, is the protective lens over the bulb is not a full lens, just a strip of glass across the center of the reflector. I don't care for that in case the bulb shatters, I'd prefer a full glass protective lens, but again that's going to be $100+ for one of those. If you're super tight for money, yes this will drop in, and yes it'll light up nice and bright.

Simple Replacement At A Good Price
I have a ten year old set and this is the second lamp I'm replacing. The original lasted about six years and previous generic replacement lasted about four. For the price of the lamp and how long I plan to keep the set, it's a simple decision.First time around, not knowing much about projection sets, I shelled out a couple hundred dollars for a repair guy but never again. Replacing the lamp is a 5-10 minute job requiring a single Phillips-head screwdriver. Unplug the set beforehand to be smart and move it if you don't have two-handed access to the lamp compartment. Unscrew the lamp door knob. (The knob can be finger-tight. If you're concerned about small children, use a flathead screwdriver to tighten it further when you put it back on). Remove the two Phillips-head screws connecting the lamp base to the chassis and slide the old lamp out, slide the new one in.The only possible complication (and the reason for two-handed access) is you may have to apply some top pressure to align the holes in the new lamp with those in the chassis. Don't overtighten the screws - we're dealing with plastic and it's not a moving part.Put the door back on and you're good to go. Same brightness as the original.

NOT a Toshiba Factory OEM Lamp!
This was supposed to be a factory OEM replacement. It arrived in a non-Toshiba package and once unpacked it appeared to be a cheap clone. No Toshiba nameplate and as a matter of fact no identification on the unit what so ever! Fortunately it fit and has worked thus far, not sure of course how long it's going to last. Disappointed in this sellers misrepresenting the product, since I was careful in purchasing from them based upon the description claiming to be an original Toshiba OEM unit.UPDATE: I initially posted these comments in response to "Bulb World's" follow-up customer satisfaction survey. Within a few minutes I received a call from their customer service department to discuss my comments (impressive). The gentlemen explained that since 2009 Toshiba no longer produced these lamp assemblies. Interesting, however my purchase was for the unit described on the listing which very specifically says "Toshiba Factory Original 23311153X / D95-LMP Replacement Lamp with Housing ". He pointed out that the unit was sold by "Media Tycoon" and the listing description was theirs and not "Bulb World's" even though it was sold by "Bulb World"??; very confusing. He said they apparently can't control what another party selling their product puts on Amazon, but he was going to contact Amazon and asked that the description be corrected. He offered to extended their warranty on the item to 18 months as a show of goodwill; which seemed reasonable to me, I have yet to receive an email confirmation to that effect (but at least I'm documenting the events here). The take away; be aware there are apparently no Toshiba OEM units available.

Toshiba
It worked perfect however, the tip where the screw goes was broken. When opened the box, it was missing the tiny part where you screw it. I still screwed the other side and the tv is now working. . Great price, way cheaper than having someone come over to do it. Do it yourself, not difficult at all. besides the little screw broken ,everything else is good. will recommend to others

On my third lamp
I've bought 2 of these lamps from Amazon. The first one lasted about 1.5 years, and it burned out. The second was about half the cost and lasted about half the time. I'm on my third lamp for this TV, and it's suppose to be a factory original so I hope that it lasts as long as the first one. If it doesn't it's time to replace the whole TV.

Fits perfect
These are cheap bulbs and last a short time compared to the more expensive counterparts but it is cheap and easy to replace.

Decent bulb, working well after a year.
I purchased this bulb after my OEM bulb failed.I have had this bulb in use for over a year now, and had little to no issues with the bulb (I took it out during yearly maintenance to clean - otherwise nothing).Decent bulb for the price.

Didn't receive what the ad included
The ad stated that the lamp came with the housing and was ready to install. All I received was the lamp and had to install it in the old housing. If I had wanted just the lamp, I could have ordered it cheaper from another source.

Great price for a replacement lamp.
Delivered ahead of its schedule with no issues. No problem with the lamp after installation which took less than 20 minutes. It cost almost half from the orignal price if I had bought it directly from Toshiba. I recommend the supplier.

Fast Shipment and Easy Install
Shipment was quick and install was easy. The picture is now viewable, but flawed. We're not sure if it's the bulb, or if the TV needs calibrating after installing a new bulb.
