The Rogers Book

THE MOST ALL INCLUSIVE BOOK I'VE EVER READ
As soon as I got this book, I read it furiously and realized it wasn't about the drums as much as it was the personal care involved with the company. I'm so grateful to the author Rob Cook who presented this book in great detail. There was no detail left out - I can't even think of anything he left out. I am completely entertained and learned so much about my kit. 1967 Dave Clark Londoner was gifted to me and I am eternally grateful for that to Steve Baker. I'm now ordering him this book and hope he will not want them back.

Great review of Rogers drum history. Many photos of vintage drum kits. Very informative on hardware, drum construction and dating these kits.

I Must Really Like It
I bought both the print and Kindle versions, so I must really like this book. Having owned a Rogers Drum Set, it was a great look back at the history of a company known (at one time) for quality and innovation. The salesperson I purchased my set from made a point to show me the inside of the drum was painted. It was little touches like that which set Rogers apart. There are so many good drums available today, it's easy to forget that historically there was a big difference in hardware and the drums themselves at one time.

The Rogers "Bible"
Outstanding!!! I've been a Rogers drum fan/player since 1972. I didn't know the drums and company went through so much in their history. I learned more in the reading of this book about my set than I have in the 40 years that I've owned my Rogers drum set. This book is the "Bible" for the Rogers Drum Set. I highly recommend this to any drummer interest in the history of Rogers Drums.

The black and white photographs are using coarse screens, thus not as much detail. Lots of the copied photographs are very flat contrast...grayed out. The history is very interesting as well are the photographs.

The definitive reference
You just can't beat any of Rob Cook's books on vintage drums. They are the definitive reference sources. He has clearly done his homework and promoter of the largest drum show in the world: The Chicago Drum Show, hosted every year in May.

Great read! Informative, fascinating look into the Rogers Drum Co. legacy. Plenty of data and anecdotes to help and enjoy!

Nice info on its pages...
I will pay a little more for a hard cover and a better paper, many cómics magazines come without doubt better finished.
