Radiation burn dressing
I used these after radiation for breast cancer (which left me with weeping burn wounds under my breast and armpit). These were large enough to cover most of the area with one pad, they absorbed the wound moisture, they didn't stick or cause any irritation. They are supposed to promote healing; I don't have any way to know if that's true. But they did the job well and the wounds seemed to heal quickly.

These heal pressure sores!
These heal pressure sores very fast along with the "SkinSmart Antimicrobial Wound Therapy" spray. We were given the wound sprays "Aloe Vesta Perineal/Skin Cleanser" that washed the sores clean but nothing would heal no matter what techniques we would try. The worst pressure sores you can think of that drill into a deep hole would not heal and we were not told about these Calcium Alginate pads. I'm not sure why the wound care centers or would nurses know about them. If they do, they are not telling anyone about them. What we do, we clean the wound, pat it dry. You get a really thick pink saf that's like a baby's diaper rash cream. I can give you what we use that you can find on Amazon and that's "Medline Remedy Olivamine Calazime Skin Protectant Paste Cream" and spread that thickly around the sore area. Then you spray the wound with your antimicrobial after cleaning and you can wipe with a baby wipe to remove any debris first. Then you take the CAD pad and place it directly over the wound. Place your bandages over that pad to keep any fluids from getting it soiled and then use a good tape. We like abdominal pads because they fold out and are really thick, absorb well and cover a large area. The tapes we like are "Medipore H Soft Cloth Surgical Tape 3" x 10 Yards". When you tape and remove, it doesn't hurt the skin. None of them stay on when wet even the ones with the plastic window with white tapes you pull off around the size by 3m. None of them work once an area gets wet. If you are lucky to have these on your feet and legs, you can easily keep them dry. A lot of people have these in areas where urine and stool are surrounding the area causing infections regularly especially uti's. Wound care centers do not really seem to know how to handle these types of wounds and most of the RNs working on them are making up techniques as they go along. The doctors refuse to treat them or even look at them. So, good luck. I hope that helps. I have closed a number of stage 4 ulcers up. They are incredibly hard to handle and you should not bother them if the outside is not soiled. Wound nurses will leave the bandage on for 2 to 3 days if the outside is not soiled since that drainage is healing the wound. If you keep bothering the sore, you are going to wipe off the tissue that is healing the wound. Think of it like a natural bandage, it's healing itself up if you can keep it clean and covered. I was taught to change them every time the bandage looks soiled and it was not healing. The minute I listened to the other RN's at another hospital, it began to heal. Nobody knows how to treat these, lets just say that right now. They are all playing it by ear and I have heard from an ER doctor face to face telling me she has NEVER seen a doctor heal them or a RN at their hospital. Use the Internet to help you research and visit the wound care nurses that deal with these every day. They will know how to heal them.

Great Value for Wound Care
I'm a paraplegic and double amputee who deals regularly with wound care issues. My physician recently recommended I begin using calcium alginate wound dressings. As I started exploring options, I quickly figured out that they're either really expensive or simply too cheap to be effective.I decided to take a chance on these Medpride Calcium Alginate Wound Dressing Pads. I ordered a box with 10 pads in it. These are 4" x 4". They are latex free. They are sterile, antimicrobial, and noted as being highly absorbent. Are these as effective as higher-end wound dressings? Oh heavens no. However, for those needing a more value-based wound dressing these are pretty close to the best I've found. They can be cut smaller. They apply easily. I'm not quite sure I completely agree that they're non-stick. I've definitely found they can get a little gunky in my wound area. However, they do seem to also be very effective. There's a natural seaweed fiber, which is what I think causes the sort of gunky texture, and I've been really impressed with how it absorbs drainage without leaving my wound area overly moist.I do change my wound dressing every other day and these are single-use dressings. These are also an Amazon's Choice and I tend to have pretty good luck with Amazon's Choice products. Overall, I'm not quite ready to call these 5-star wound dressings, however, I have no problem calling them a 4-star dressing and I'll definitely use them again. These wound dressings are affordable, effective, easy to use, and easy to remove. They're just about everything I need a wound dressing to be.

I liked the bandage but it did stick to the wound and pulled off some skin being removed even tho I tried soaking it off with warm water.
