One Touch USB Cable for PC

This product comes with 2 CDs and a 7 ft. USB cable. One CD contains USB drivers but will invoke updated drivers from the internet. I was able to download a Vista driver after prompting from this disk. A Windows 7 driver does not appear to be available yet. The other CD contains the One Touch Software for extracting data from various Lifescan (One Touch) meters. Once a proper driver is installed, the program installs easily and in a few minutes my One Touch Ultra 2 was downloading data. The software has a 2007 copyright and does not appear to have been freshened recently. Several reviewers have noted the old fashioned appearance of icons, buttons and colors. Nevertheless, I was surprised by the versatility and nice data presentation in tabular form. This software is better than I expected for $30. The software skips over previously downloaded data to give updated charts and has several different report options. Different patients can share the same software using a drop down list of patients so that a medical office could download data from many different patient meters and generate reports for each patient.

Works fine but over priced, no CD just a plane cable that if they gave you the specs you could get in any Radio Shack for about half the price. And this after making us sit without a system for well over a year stating that they had to upgrade the software and it was just the cable that needed to be replaced. No very customer friendly.

1. The manufacturer no longer provides the necessary software which is required in order for this cable to work.2. The instructions with this cable state you must 1st download the software from the manufacterer's web page. Yet, the software is not availble & 'OneTouch' states on their web page they no longer support the PC Cable interface.3. If you attempt to return it, the Vendor requires the Buyer to paying the return shipping costs.

Sure is easy to show the doctor the results with this software and interface. (The doctor doesn't even have this even though he recommended the brand).Sorry it doesn't seem to communicate with VISTA or Windows 7 systems. Although there is a manual entry mode, it is a pain to use after using the fast download feature on XP. It would be nice if a new driver release would work on Vista and Windows7.

I bought this USB adapter with software and eventually after many attempts got it running on my Win7 computer but after a week of downloading my results the adapter stopped working completely and wasn't recognized on any operating system or computer I own. Only good thing to say about this product was the refund was quick and easy. Look to another company if you want downloadable results.

Doesn't work with the unit I use.I can do this with an excel spread sheet.If you're not computer savvy, this may be for you?

It worked great after I spent a hr with customer service at One Touch. Now all I have to do is plug it in and download my readings from the meter and it charts it all. Very nice.
