MISSIONBoat Gear Delta Wake Surf Shaper Solution

Not quite worth the $$$ for older boat
We purchased this wave shaper to use on our 2006 Malibu Wakesetter VLX. The product definitely cleaned up the wake, especially on the weaker side (passenger side on this boat) but unfortunately for our boat with stock ballast we were not able to make enough improvements to justify the $350 price. Unfortunately we also learned the hard way that this seller does not offer any returns even if you have just tested the item briefly. It's disappointing to not be able to test products like this, because they don't always work as well as expected. Overall, it could be worth the money depending on your boat.

Cleaner up.

Update 2017-08-06Added a comparison photo showing this vs the Swell Wakesurf Creator alternative.http://amzn.to/2hHFhTG Update - 2017-08-04Took the Delta to Powell last week and it was amazing. We spent quite a bit of time trying to dial in the surf. We have done a lot of research leading up to this trip as to what we can tweak to get a bigger cleaner wave. I took pics and video of what we tried, not quite ready to post, but will be soon. First we filled the rear ballast full with all onboard stock ballast full, a total of around 4000lbs of ballast. The wave was OK, but very rough. We dumped some ballast from the non-surf side and it cleaned up a bit. Adding an additional 1000lbs of ballast to the bow, and the wave shape improved and lengthened, but it was still a mess. I didn't want to do it but I made everybody move to the surf side of the boat, and it cleaned up a bit still, but definitely wasn't clean. I dove in attached the Mission Delta, I put it about 2 feet forward of the rear, farther than I normally do. The wave improved but not much. I moved it back a foot and saw additional improvement. Finally I placed it in the sweet spot, as far back and down as possible, and the lip of the wave formed, the froth cleared and we had one of the best waves we've seen on this boat.Still, I have been very curious about the SWELL alternative. I don't suspect that it will do better, but I want to find out. The SWELL is about 40% less and makes the same claims.http://amzn.to/2fdLjKYSo I have purchased it, and will be doing the test run on Saturday 8/6/2017. I'll update my review here as well as post a complete review of the Swell. Here is a link to my review of the Swell thus far.http://amzn.to/2fdRGxPUpdate - 2017-06-17Still loving the Mission Delta, cleans up the surf nicely. Included some images to show the difference it makes.Orig ReviewOnly one trip out but so far I love it. We bought this just before our last trip of the season in 2016. We took it to Lake Powell for several days and truly enjoyed the improvements in the wake.We added substantial ballast with these bagshttp://amzn.to/2nEXssthttp://amzn.to/2nrZ08tAnd this pumphttp://amzn.to/2nFbwm1It made for an epic ride. With the Mission Delta we no longer needed to weight the boat to one side, or force everyone to shift seating. And it was a good thing, as with the excessive ballast, listing could be dangerous, surfing is much funner than swamping.Compared with the alternative:http://amzn.to/2oHWR8UI could not fathom the idea of placing large velcro pads on the side of my boat.Check out my boating products list.http://amzn.to/2nIAX7V

2008 tige RZ2
Will fit on an 08 rz2. That particular fiberglass mold is hard to find a good wake shaper that will stick but this one will. Has never fallen off and cleans the wake up nicely.

Highly recommend - Worth the Money
1 year in still going strong. I have a 2011 Sport Nautique 200. It's a crossover 20ft, V-drive, Slalom-Wakeboard boat. Night and day difference when using the shaper. Took about 4 trips to the lake to finally get the wave dialed in. you really do need to try different places, depths, weight distribution, and speed to figure it out for your boat. What I found with the shaper is to place it on the opposite side of where you intend to surf, as far back towards the transom as possible, and down low enough so it is fully submerged with the waterline even with the top side of the shaper. If its set right you will get a funny looking plume like flow of water rolling up and over on where it is attached. If not change the depth until you do. For my boat placing it there, pulling the sportshift into trick mode, filling all the stock ballast (left rear, right rear, and center), adding a 500lb fat sac in the floor against the back seat, and going 9.6mph gets the best wave. To switch sides for other riders, all I have to do is move the shaper, nothing else.

great product, great service
Delta 2.0 works very well and creates a clean, large wave. Easy to attach and definitely sticks better to a flat section of hull. We lost it a couple of times when it was not properly attached and I might add a leash just for the heck of it. The customer service from Mission is excellent. When Delta 2.0 went missing, ( I think it was stolen while boat was docked at a campground) they sent me a new one no questions ask. So, make sure you register the product when you get it!!

Easy set up and great video tutorial
Great product. I don’t own a fancy ski boat. My friends and I like to surf and had to hold onto a rope to wake surf. The Delta by Mission worked as described. I have an I/O Mercruiser on a bow rider. The mission made a big difference on the shape of the wake/wave. I had to install it in the reverse configuration and it was easy to switch. This device floats and is easy to see if it falls off which it did on the first try because I tried to mount it on an uneven surface. After two adjustments I was happy and it hasn’t fallen off again. Watching the video on youtube on how to adjust the pavement and tubing the wave was great. I am sure this thing will work even better on a real ski boat that has ballast and more precise throttle and boat speed. But for me, a few hundred dollars was a lot less expensive than a new competition wake boat.

Very good wave shape
Worked very well shaping the wake and it was fairly easy to move from one side to the other for different riders. It did come off of the boat once and we were able to find it but it could be made of brighter colors as it wasn’t easy to see in choppy water.

Easy to take on and off with great suction
For the price it's certainly worth it. Easy to take on and off with great suction. It does improve the size of wake.

This product works great!! Makes a clean wake and long wake
This product works great!! Makes a clean wake and long wake. Used it on an air nautique and a wakesetter. Improved both wakes without the need of extra people in the boat.
