VollrathStainless Steel Disher - Size 10

This appears to be a top-quality disher, designed to be durable enough for the food industry. The handle material seems very tough, and is molded as the base for the mechanism, making everything very stable and solid.I got this specifically to measure out waffle batter for my Chef's Choice Classic Waffle Maker Chef's Choice 840B WafflePro Express Waffle Maker, Classic Belgian based on a recommendation from another waffle maker owner. The batter for his recipe is fairly thick, and tends to mound up in the disher a #10 disher (beige handle) measures out a half cup (which is what the waffle maker calls for). Unfortunately, the batter for my recipes tend to be thinner, making a #8 disher more accurate for my needs.Long story short, if you have a waffle maker that needs a half cup of batter, use the #10 for thick batter, and the #8 for runny batter.Either way, though, this is a perfect way to quickly and accurately measure out waffle batter (or anything else) without making a mess.

I bought this to use with a gluten-free hamburger bun recipe, it specified the size 10. I haven't used it for that yet, nor have I used it for iced cream. I had made a huge pot of suet to share with my women's group and it was so very sticky. This thing was perfect, it released the balls of suet immediately, never had to press the handle more than once. This is a high quality product and comes in many sizes. If you need one, this is the one to get, whichever size you need.

Ice cream, mashed potatoes, and any mushy comestibles can be retrieved, transported, and deposited through the skillful application of this ingenious device, which releases the edible material at the mere touch of a thumb. It is not an effective weapon or medical device, however.

I liked the disher I bought for our house so much, I bought this one as a gift. This is the sturdiest scoop you’ll ever find. It’s very well made. One full scoop is a perfect serving size, and the ice cream comes out in a perfect ball. It always looks so nice! The handle feels good to grip and the release lever is easy to push with your thumb. Ergonomically designed, I guess you would say.I liked it enough to give as a gift~I tied a gift card from our local gelato shop to it and the recipient was very happy with the disher.

I have all the Vollrath dishers. This was the last one to add to my collection. I never thought I would use them as often as I do when I'm cooking, but they come in handy for making specific items like, cookies, muffins, quesadillas, Southwestern eggrolls, or tortilla wraps, etc. Those recipes, among others, call for a specific measurement when preparing, so I grab the color for that measurement and start scooping. I especially find them handy for eggrolls and tortilla wraps so the servings are prepared with equal amounts of filling. I haven't used them for ice cream, but my son-in-law did and he said they worked great. I highly recommend these dishers!

Its great. It portions food just as it should. No complaints its perfect.

I discovered the hard way I cannot return this (even as a prime member) and now I am stuck with something I will not use. Size 10 is way too large for a womans hand. It is awkward and the scoop is way to big for what I want to use it for. Warning to those buying size 10 or this product. Not sure if the handle sizes decrease as size of scoop decreases either.
