I originally got this for myself, to aid in recovery of working out. I also wanted something that would hydrate me effectively, help me burn fat, and NOT have stimulants in it. This one appeared to fit the bill, with a caveat for me.There is L-carnitine to help with the fat burning, and the amino acids to help with the muscle recovery. I found earlier this year that taking more amino acids like this has not only helped me recover post workout, but it also somehow helps me be more naturally flexible! I'm not exactly sure why or how this works, but it does. I'm a mom in her 40's with a little weight to lose, and I'm more flexible than I was when I was 20 years old and really fit and thin (was 110 lbs of lean muscle on my 5'4" frame at that time...working out regularly at 4:30 am in the morning, etc.). I'm not even working out that hard - just doing some lighter resistance training and mostly cardio stuff, so it's not like I'm trying that hard (just trying to squeeze in activity while I can). The only thing that I can figure that somehow helped my flexibility recently are these kinds of amino acids, along with curcumin supplements. Who knew?! Wish I had known that decades ago! At any rate, this supplement seems to have the right kind for me, so that's a big plus.This stuff was a little hard to blend up. I have a shaker with a blender ball in it, and I really have to put it to work to get it to the point where I can drink this stuff, so it's a little hard to dissolve. It's a little annoying, but still doable.The tropic grape flavor is extremely sweet to me. I have to seriously dilute it a lot so that I can take it, because it's a little too much for me. There again, I eat cleanly and don't consume much sugar or artificial sweeteners, so YMMV. It's not bad tasting, just a little much for me in particular. If you're used to sweet flavorings like crystal light and such, it'll probably be no biggie for you.For those of you who like using a lot of supplements for your workouts and such, this is a stackable one that can easily be added to other supplements (within reason).Overall, this supplement works well and appears to be of high quality...BUT, there's a caveat for me. There are times it makes me nauseous (for a brief period of about half an hour or so), and I'm not exactly certain as to why it does that. Maybe the sweeteners? I don't know what ingredient in it is doing that, but it's enough that I hesitate taking it sometimes. It's not every time and it's not severe enough to make me actually throw up...but unfortunately, it's annoying/uncomfortable enough for me to possibly stop taking it because I don't like feeling it, even though it's relatively brief. I had my husband start taking this to see if it did that to him too, and he had zero issues with that, or anything else. So...I guess that means I might be a little sensitive to something in this, and YMMV. That's an extreme bummer, because I like most things about this supplement overall. Since my husband had no problems with that, I don't think it's fair to knock off a bunch of stars for that since everyone is different...but note that if you're sensitive to certain ingredients, nausea might be a possibility. Aside from that, it's a decent supplement that does work.

Amino Shred Pirate Bay has AMAZING FLAVOR, it’s like a vacation in your mouth. With a subtle piña colada flavor it is light and refreshing. I like to drink my BCAAs all day to help stay hydrated and promote muscle recovery. These are fantastic because now I get some added non-stimulant fat burning whereas some of the larger companies out there don’t even have a similar product. I will absolutely be coming back for more :)

Tastes great, and mixes easily/completely/quickly compared to other aminos I’ve tried in the past. Great price point for a high quality supplement. Highly recommend

Made me sick i had to quit after 3 days I got the runs...tryed a 4 day break and got them again when I went back on it....no go

I wouldnt say it tastes good... nor would I say it tastes bad. I have tested much worse flavors in the supplement industry. Probably a 7 out of 10 on flavor for me. For grape flavor, the BSN products have best tasting grape in my opinion.It dissolves very in water.I will update this review after ai have used this product for a couple weeks to determine effectiveness.

This doesn't have a terrible flavor to it. It tastes like koolaid grape with artificial sugar so it has a bit of an aftertaste, but honestly, it tastes better than I anticipated. It blends HORRIBLY in water, even in a blender. I first tried it in my shaker bottle and it just got crusty and stayed at the bottle in the shaker ball, then I tried it in my Vitamix with just water and again it got chunky and stuck to the sides of the glass. When I mixed it with ice and water did a little better, but it still wasn't a smooth blend. Overall, it's got good ingredients and is OK, but I wish it blended better.
