A true story about two people who were "way-showers" for all people who long for adventure.
Before there were jet planes for travel, before there were computers and elaborate cameras, Osa Johnson and her husband toured the world, bringing back true adventure films for all to see.

A life of amazement.
I read this book 55 years ago, and it is the only book I ever reread. Amazing story and pictures that stay with me to this day. This time it is a gift to my grandson starting into photography and my wish to encourage him.

Thought Provoking Read
Martin and Osa were true pioneers. Their story was thought provoking as far as the ethics of safaris and wildlife photography. I will never look at animal documentaries the same.

A delight from a prior era
I've read this several times in paper; I pre-ordered the Kindle version as soon as I saw it would be available. Osa Johnson here tells the story of her travels and adventures with her husband, Martin. This was a massive bestseller back before WWII, and it was a bestseller because it's fascinating, light and easy to read, and full of marvelous tales--and it still IS those things. The glimpses into American and world cultures in the 1920-1940 era alone are worth reading the book. This book is a gem!
