Very good cutters, time saved is worth the money !
Drilled twenty 1/2" holes in 1/4" steel with my drill press . They worked great and it's still razor sharp after I got done . I don't mean mildly sharp, they are razor sharp like I didn't even use them. I did hit the holes with a squirt of WD40 about every 2 seconds while cutting , and and as I got close to the end of the hole it did bind for a second so I lifted to clear the hole and continued right thru. Likely this was due to the flex in my clamping and small and cheap harber frate drill press. If the cutter slows or stalls, lift it and spray lubricant in to clear the hole and keep the cutter cool. I Have not tried them in a hand drill. I would imagine you'd need an extremely steady hand and then you don't have a free hand to keep spraying oil into the hole. Don't forget to make a take a small hammer and use the center punch to prevent the cutter from wandering...and don't forget to install the spacer washer first !

Must have
These are expensive, but worth it...like my friends say about divorce!

Definitely worth the money
These are the best solution for drilling large holes free hand. You don’t wear yourself out trying to put a lot of pressure on. And it takes a quarter of the time to drill the hole. After you’re done it’ll be a cleaner more square to the surface hole also. Might look pricey but you definitely get what you pay for. There’s no way you could buy quality bits that size for anywhere near that money.

Always amazed..
Very aggressive cutting, be careful with use, they can be brittle. But overall, very impressed with how well these bits perform. Can handle thicker metal as well

Best tool for round holes in thin metal
I have the small set of these and love them! Had a need to make some larger holes so I went ahead and picked this up. Only downside is I like how the smaller kit has a live center but the big kit has a dead center. Other than that, no complaints!

Needs flats to remove cutters from arbor.
Great tool for fast cutting of holes in steel. The only problem with this and other rotabroach cutters is that once you use the tool the heat and pressure of the operation causes the cutter to get real tight on the arbor. Then you have to use vise grips to release the cutter. Well they crack when you grab them too tightly. The cutters need flats to place a wrench on them for removal from the arbor.

It's touchy about how tight the cutter is.
The cutter threads on, but there is no wrench spots on it, just a nut that goes behind it that rubs against it. If you install the cutter hand tight, it seems okay, but make very sure that you slowly add cutting pressure. I guess I had the cutter on a tiny bit loose and when it touched the material it immediately cross threaded the cutter onto the arbor. No amount of force would remove it (I'm talking pipe wrench force) and emailing Blair was no help as they wouldn't warranty it, so now the kit us useless unless I drop another $45 on an arbor.

These cut excellent and are accurate
These cut excellent and are accurate. The only issue I have had is the arbor is soft metal and bends easily. Luckily I have a lathe and could turn it down. Wish it was hardened metal and the cutters unscrew from arbor easier. These are still good quality cutters
