Pretty much the same as every other bar shampoo.Several years ago I started using JR Liggetts shampoo bars and had fantastic results. Then I moved and after going through several other brands of shampoo bars (Apple Valley, Chagrin Valley, Beauty and the Bees, Shea Moisture, Nature's Paradise, etc.) I could not replicate the results. I finally figured out that our water is harder than it was in our old home. There are no deposits on our faucets and dishes, but a very slight change in hardness will render these surfactant-free shampoos useless.I thought this Bar None bar might be different because in the past, in a particularly bad episode of bar-buildup, I used some Bentonite Clay to clean out the waxy, greasy mess from the back of my hair. From what I've read, Bentonite Clay is anionic and will "grab" the grease and dirt in the hair as surfactants do. It worked, but was time-consuming and messy.For whatever chemistry-related reason, this bar does not work in the same way.That being said, I wanted to see if it would be a good travel companion so I used it to clean my hair and body for about a month. I kept it on a wire soap dish that is rarely splashed or dripped on and after about 4 weeks of daily use, there's about 1/3 of the bar left.It's very moisturizing yet cleansing for the body. And it lathers well. To me, it smells a little "manly" and the scent lingers all day.It made my face rough and bumpy with a few small breakouts around my hairline.It left terrible build-up in my thin, shoulder-length hair. Normally, I like the "thick" feeling shampoo bars used to give me in soft water, but this was not that. This was nasty, waxy, stringy, left-over soap that would not rinse out no matter what.Many shampoo bar manufacturers like to say this is a "transition period" that will end eventually. I've been using shampoo bars for about four years now and will note that a transition for me made my hair look flat for a few days and by one week, I never had another issue. If it's build up, the waxy feeling will come back again and again after you inevitably grab an old shampoo to wash it out.This might be OK for someone with shorter hair who enjoys the back-woodsy smell.

I find the smell intoxicating and alluring. Cleans well. Especially my hair. Shocking. Bar soap as shampoo usually makes your hair feel like melting hay. Kind of gummy like and especially dry. Not this bar! My hair felt okay. really clean, especially my scalp. Didn't leave a tarry residue. Washed off nicely leaving me feeling cleaner than usual but not dried out. I did, of course, use my John Masters Organics Rose and Apricot Hair Milk (leave on conditioner) but my hair looked more voluminous and fuller than usual and my scalp feels more breathable with less excess skin build up around my follicles. The bar itself seems like it will last. It does not melt away quickly when wet. Seems well made. Ingredients are great too. Cant get enough of that smell; woodsy and clean but not too masculine or feminine. Very gender neutral. Good for everybody and the planet. Try it, you may just fall in love!

I am a simple person who has simple needs and likes simple things. I veer from soaps that come in bottles, and have always appreciated the feel of a bar of soap in my hands. Bar None is the absolute smoothest, cleanest simplest soap I have ever used. Fragrances trigger my asthma and this soap has and leaves none! I use it at the sink, in the shower, in the bathtub, for hands, body AND hair (yes, it is also my shampoo). My guests use it, and I take it camping. I love it, and it keeps my personal soap needs met at all times in the simplest way I could imagine. Thank you Bar None!

The one and only flaw I've found with this bar is that it goes away too quickly. In honesty and full disclosure, I've found that I actually use it more than anticipated, so the comparison isn't fair and balanced. I shower every day, use this bar on body and hair, and I've been using it for a month and I'd say I have a month or slightly more left of it. Nevertheless, I'll be reordering. It's that good.

Over the years, I have tried many soap products both bar and liquid. The natural glycerin soaps just melt and dont last long. Named brand soaps feel like there is a film on my skin and for me dry my skin. This is my second purchase of Bar None. Keep it in the shower, it works great, and lasts a long time. I appreciate that it does not melt like other soap. Both my husband and I use it. I dont believe this product is for men only. I like the natural lavender smell. Some may think it is strong, but I like the fact that the makers put the effort into infusing generous amounts of the ingredients that they say are in the product! I was introduced to Fieldworks by a friend and now wont use anything else. With the convenience of online ordering from Amazon and fast shipping with Prime, makes it very convenient!

I have used Fieldworks Moosh Shampoo on my dog for years and that's what brought me to this product. Moosh is an outstanding product and smells amazing.I found this soap to be a bit disappointing. It is a nice thick bar, but is quite small with square edges and pointy corners. Almost a cube. To me the smell was "generic soap"; nothing special.There are some good things about this soap: It's all natural and it lathers up well.But for over 10 bucks for a bar of soap, you should be experiencing some sort of luxury.Come on Fieldworks; you did it for my dog, do it for me!UPDATE: Does not last very long. Dropping it from 3 stars to 2. There are many much better natural soaps out there that are better value for money, smell better and last better. Slightly sad as I wanted this to be special. But it's not.

I use this soap on my toddler for body and hair, myself and my husband. It’s great! For guys, it’s perfect hair soap. It’s not as great for long female hair in the tangle department, but it’s a perfect body bar with a slightly masculine scent, which I love. Very earthy and natural and appealing in terms of smell. No rashes for my toddler with very sensitive skin, and I LOVE the ingredients. 🙌🏻 Bar none- perfect name
