It's all it's cracked up to be. Love it.
Have been waiting to find the "right" firepit. I happened across this one in an Amazon search. It checks off all the boxes. I will upload pics soon.• Delivery - faster than anticipated and arrived with no damage.• Assembly - a breeze, and once assembled was even larger than I anticipated.• Sturdy - Absolutely. Once assembled, didn't budge.• Building the fire/coals - fantastic. I didn't know what to expect this first time, so I put my hot dogs on too soon and burnt them on the flame, but when the charcoals and wood got hot, they stayed hot for a good 2-3 hours. I put the equivalent of half a small bag of charcoal and about 4-5 small-ish sticks from the backyard. A little lighter fluid, got it going and it just kept going. Could have grilled a lot more meat and veggies, and next time I intend to.• Grilling grates - I got the 3-fold. I love that I did. It was really nice to be able to shift the grates to as needed. Again, really, once the coals spread out, I could have left it where it was, because the heat is so even, but I like having that choice, and it made it easy to add firewood after we were done cooking and just chillin'.• Radiant heat - I think this is my favorite part. It was kind of chilly (55 f), and so we were wrapped in blankets but the heat coming from the pit was fantastic.• Heat guard - works great. Set up was on an old deck. Cool air beneath the guard throughout, but in-between the guard and the pit, this heat was just coming out nicely all around, not to mention the heat from the top/inside of the pit.• Ember Mat - Sturdy and nice finished. Nice quality. Easy to clean.• Putting out the fire - I spread out the coals and got a spray water bottle and basically sprayed about a quarter of it to put out the rest of the coals. Took me about 5 minutes, but it was nice cause I didn't have to get ash-water on the heat guard or the mat below. It evaporates and cools at the same time, so I can just sweep the ash out if I want to or pick up the steel mesh to neatly dump in trash.Verdict - I love that I can use this at home. 8 people in deck chairs can fit around it comfortably. So glad that I can easily pack and take it camping, or anywhere. Hats off to Fireside Outdoor for an outstanding product.

GREAT CAMPING BUDDY
This item is fire pit is awesome. Compact, portable and works great. We use it on RV trips and love it. I did have a problem where one of the welds came loose on a grill. I notified the manufacturer and they quickly sent out a replacement. Customer service is top rate, so is the fire pit.

Lightweight, easy to use from start to finish, and practical
Let me start by saying that I love charcoal grilling and that a lightweight firepit is not necessarily the type of product I'd use for outdoor cooking. But after seeing videos and reviews, and given that I was given the option of paying for this product over 6 months without any interest/APR, I thought I'd give it a try, and I am glad I did.The challenge of charcoal grilling anywhere it's not right in your backyard is transporting equipment to wherever the grilling happens. The Fireside Pop-Up Firepit is foldable and very light; the grates weigh more than the Firepit itself. Assembly is quick, as is disassembly. This product's size - 24" x 24 " - provides a surprisingly large grilling area. At least 20 burger patties could be grilled at once; if one were doing strictly hot dogs, at least 100 sausages would fit on the quad-fold grates. One drawback is that if you're roasting thicker/larger chunks of meat which need slower cooking over time, you have to limit the embers to half of the fire mesh. That said, if you know how to control the temperature of your grill, this won't be a problem. And, charcoal burns fine on the fire mesh as you light your coals to get embers going, but I rely as always on my charcoal chimney for a faster job.Having used it only for grilling, which requires more attention and work than simply burning fuel if this is used as a fire pit, I can confidently say it is a fine product for either function. You do not need to wait until the embers have completely cooled off before disassembly, but by all means carefully remove the hot embers and ashes with a shovel or another such tool from the fire mesh before disassembling. Be sure the mesh is indeed cool enough before folding for storage.Whether you use this for some burgers or steaks on the weekend just so you don't need to use your stove, or whether you take this to a camp site, this product combines practicality with ease of use and value. Barring any unforeseen problem, I expect this product to be handy for many years, even if/when I "graduate" to another type of grill. As a simple fire pit, this will serve me over many outdoor evening gatherings.

This thing is awesome!
I haven’t taken it to camp yet, but I set it up in the backyard and it goes together great and works perfect. I can tell I’m gonna be glad I got the grilling grates with it.

Beware shield...it may not shield!
The pit is pretty good. I think it will be useful. The heat shield however is a joke. The first use out of the box as soon as I tipped my charcoal out that thing lit up and burned in seconds. I use zero accelerants and checked 3 times to be sure I had placement correct. Thankfully I had my pit on concrete. Just beware the heat sheild may not in fact shield anything from burning. The way it lit up I’d swear it was coated with accelerant but my pit, shield & racks were straight out of the box. This pit is sturdy & easy to transport though so I do like the pit itself & giving whole set up a 4 even though I can’t now use it all the places I intended to since my heat shield failed.
