Dinors solar fountain is made up of highly efficiency solar panel and new brushless pump, start-up fast, efficient and strong stability. It does not require electric outlet or external battery, suitable for bird bath, fish tank, small pond, pool, garden decoration etc.Features:1.No Electric outlet or battery needed. This product floats on the water and starts pumping water soon after bright sunlight shines directly on the solar cells. 2.Installation is simple, easy to use, as long as there is direct sunlight on the solar cells without shadows, water pump will start working in a few seconds. 3.It is a an energy-saving solar fountain suitable for garden decoration, bird bath, small pond, water circulation for oxygen.Specification:Solar panel power consumption: 7V 1.4WPump power: 7V, 1.1WSize of solar panel: 160*25mmMaximum water height: 19.7inchesMax flow of pump: 160L/HMax lift of pump: 100cmLife Span: ≥10,000HoursDelay: ≤3s Warm tips:1. Let the solar water pump work without spray head for seconds to let the air go out of the pump. This step is very important, or there might not be high water flow coming out;2. Clean the solar pump regularly especially the water outlet and spray nozzles to prevent it from getting stuck;3. Don't let the solar fountain pump work without water for a long time, or its lifespan will be shortened;4.If you don't want it to float, you can fix it with the sucker in the bottom or use an extra fish line;5. Change water frequently to keep water clean to avoid any dirt to block the pump.

An ok fountain for a small space.
The media could not be loaded. I had one of these before but it quit working. I probably didn't clean it properly, so that was my fault. I had that one in a bird bath. This one is in my "fish pond" in my fairy garden. (The "pond" is just a fish shaped snack bowl, which I keep some rocks on the bottom and a stick across it in case insects fall in so they won't drown.) I have to change the water often to avoid mosquitoes, so this will hopefully be easier to keep clean. The instructions for putting the little parts together aren't exactly clear, but I must have done it right because it works. It only works when the sun shines on it, so put it in a location that has lots of sun.

Unless you live at the Equator, skip it...
The fountain arrived in an unmarked box, which further opened to reveal about 30 parts with no assembly instructions. I did the best I could, not realizing the 12mm foam disc I had to install had a peel-off adhesive side. I didn't peel the thing, and plugged a fitting into the center hole like the picture. Nothing fit together right. But, I set it afloat in the wading pool I have in my suburban backyard and it gave a few half-hearted spurts. It was an overcast Monday, so I left it in the pool. Tuesday morning, I couldn't believe my eyes. There were pieces of fountain everywhere on the thankfully dead lawn. Something had gone totally Hulk-Smash on the fountain. Whatever it was became enraged when it discovered the top foam disc had an adhesive backing...from the fur pattern trapped in the glue, I'd say it was a raccoon, and it freaked out when it got a foam disc unpeeled, lol. I did what I could to reassemble it. That is why this isn't about the fountain's actual performance. From what I've seen, unless the sun is directly overhead, as in you are living someplace in deepest Amazon forest or African desert, you are never going to get full performance from this fountain. The foam disc on the top is 12mm thick, and the solar sensors are in a ring around it, one of them is always going to be in the shade, and thus, not able to perform at peak capabilities anywhere except where the sun is always at high noon, lol. The other design problem is the lack of an on-off switch. What do you do with this thing when you don't want it in the yard, because maybe the raccoons are going to come again at night, so maybe you need to store it? Well, it doesn't turn off, so if you take it out of the water, you have to put it in something else or the motor will burn out eventually because you can't turn it off. That is really bad. Even my solar-powered LED mason jar lids and solar LED fireflies have an ON-OFF switch. I had to stick it in a paper grocery sack, indoors. A ridiculous mount of labor involved in keeping this thing from dying either at it's own hand, the neighborhood wildlife's rage or my own forgetfulness. It's like I got a new pet. I didn't want a new pet, lol.

Not great for a bird bath
Let me start off by saying that this did attract the birds, so that's the plus. Also, even when the sun was going down, it still spurt water every few seconds. Not high, but enough to keep the water moving. The minuses are:1- The suction cups on the bottom are so small that they are pretty much useless. Also, they are to one side of the base so the unit is lopsided and water shoots over the side of the bird bath. I have tried putting a stone under the side that leans, but then the suction cups pop off. Once it starts to float, most of the water is pumped out of the bath.2- Once you put a head on the stem, it is impossible to remove. I thought I would see which one I liked and when I tried to switch them, I can't get the head off.3- On a windy day, there will be no water left in the bird bath because it shoots so high and blows all over the ground.I really think that no matter who you buy a bird bath fountain from, if it looks like this one, it probably was made by the same company and will have the same problems. I'm still trying to make it work for me.

solar fountain
Great idea for a fountain, but it can't be without water and animals may play with it/knock it down on the ground. It worked well and I was thrilled to get it. Pets etc love running water/moving water. It need bright sunlight.

Works great for about 2 hours in the day
I really like the concept of this fountain BUT there are some issues. It’s not solar powered as in it holds a charge and uses that banked charge to power the fountain. It’s solar in that when the sun hits it it flows. And once the sun stops hitting it, it slows or stops completely. The problem is that if there is even a hint of a shadow on there the flow slows down. And its not a slow steady trickle but slow in that it more starts to spurt water Intermittently. Since birds need to feel comfortable and safe in a place in order to bath it kinda scares them away since the water “jumps”. They too jump because it freaks them and out and end up flying away. So the water only steadily flows for a few hours a day when the sun is at its highest. Before or after that there are too many shadows. But during the day when the sun is at its highest is when the birds aren’t really in my yard. So, I wouldn’t recommend this although the idea is really cool to have a fountain without bulky cords, but it just doesn’t work very well.

Cute little fountain for a birdbath.
The size is perfect for my birdbath. It floats on the water great. However your birdbath has to be in direct sunlight. I had to move mine from under trees into direct sun in order for it to spray water out. When the sun is directly on it it works great and has a very nice and continuous spray. When clouds cover the sun it will still shoot water out but not continuously. More like spurts. Does the same with a setting sun. So the light has to be directly on it and not just light out in general. I do like how it comes with attachments so you can change out the neck to be shorter or longer and the nozzle head for different spray options. Overall, I like it and it adds I little pizzaz to my birdbath and keeps the water from becoming stagnant. I only gave it 4 stars for the direct sun reason.

Stopped working after 4 months
The fountain is great but I expected to get more than 4 months out of it. The last one I had worked for a year.
