The media could not be loaded.  I have been looking for a solution for my daughter's Forester ever since she saw the backup camera I installed on my Xterra. She is a professional photographer and she sometimes does adventure photography where she tows her camper trailer to the shoot by herself. She wanted a backup camera but didn't want to do the wiring I did and she also did not have an LCD screen to show the camera. This camera provides everything she needs without the complex wiring and it doesn't need an LCD screen. It is made by the same company that I bought my camera from so I was super confident in their 5-star customer service and product quality. All you need to do is mount the license plate frame and connect to the reverse/backup light. It is that simple! You then see the camera on your phone. What could be simpler? You can even have multiple cameras. One for the car one for the trailer... I am really excited I found this.

I don't write reviews often. Actually this only the third I've ever written. After reading other reviews i ordered this product and received it late yesterday afternoon 6/21/19 and installed it this morning 6/22/19. Couldn't have been easier. Rather than splicing into the lights I plugged it into the tow package on my truck. Installed the app and, bingo, it worked on the first try. Couldn't be happier.Addendum: Since the app does not require a log in they is really no way to turn the app off. Use the "force stop" function under app info otherwise the app will continue looking for the camera wifi signal and use up battery. Also, turn off your smart phone wifi connection to the wifi signal. I figured these out when my battery life was cut in half. Also, I wouldn't use this camera for long periods of time to avoid reduced battery on your smart phone.

I could have installed it myself but chose to have it installed professionally. Picture is exceptional. The camera and license frame appears solid. The camera links to the SWD Camera iPhone app easily.The company is also offering a free dash cam. Haven't gotten it yet but I hope it has the same quality as the back up camera.Excellent customer service as well!

Put this on older truck for hooking up camper trailer. Bought cheap four wire trailer wire harness to just plug in to existing. Super easy... Downloaded app, connected to camera WIFI, and Wala... My wife's truck camera is higher, (looks down.) Little easier to gauge when on the mark, but this product just dandy as well. Economic solution. Thanks...

Installed the camera in 10 min. Worked the first time. No issues at all with finding the WiFi. I have an f150 screw so I was a little concerned with the distance. But no issues at all. Very excited now that I can see when backing up. WiFi is not instant, but what’s 3 secs or so? Better to wait instead of running in to a wall or worse yet, the wife’s car. I would and will recommend this product to anyone that is looking for a WiFi type backup camera.Update; I ran an accessory wire to the camera so it’s always on. This works a bit better for me since all I have to do is tap on the app and the pic comes up immediately. No more 3 sec wait!

Impressive, solidly constructed camera and license plate frame. Securely mounts to car and is theft-proof. Not hard to install with basic auto repair skills. Camera image is very sharp and adapts to full screen when phone is in landscape position. Mobile phone app install was very easy and the camera image comes up quickly, like a factory cam with no lag time.I connected to brake light for power as the brake is always depressed when reversing. Wiring is easier if car has reverse or brake lights on the trunk lid. Otherwise run wires along trunk hinge conduit to rear light assembly which may require extending the wires. Recommend splice and solder to vehicle wiring for reliable connection.

I love this product! Upon receiving it, it was packaged very well, very easy to install and download the app for your phone. On thing in particular that I like about the mounting of the frame is that it bolts through to the inside of the car, which makes for very high anti-theft concerns. I also like the option to wire it to a reverse light or more constant power such as running lights, which allows you to have the camera on to see blindspot while driving. I definitely recommend things product to ANYONE!

First, this camera does what it is supposed to do. It sends a clear picture to your cell phone (in my case, an iPhone) and makes easy work of backing up in a narrow driveway or avoiding obstacles.Second, if you compare it to a built-in system with a hard-wired video monitor, you will be disappointed. The phone display is small, and each way you connect the camera to the car's power has some drawback. See below.Options for Connecting to Vehicle Power:1. Connect to wire that's hot whenever ignition is on - camera will always be on and transmitting to phone, which can run down phone battery. But this gives easiest user interface.2. Connect to backup light - camera is on only when reverse is selected. (This is the option I chose.) There is a 5 - 10 second delay before the picture is displayed, to allow the camera WiFi to be registered with the phone. Further, if you are at home, you have to go into phone settings and manually select the camera's WiFi in order to override your home's WiFi.3. Connect to a power source you can control, such as the taillights. You manually turn on the camera whenever you want to use it. As with Option 2, this requires going into phone settings and selecting the camera WiFi if you are at home.Overall, I recommend this backup camera if you want a simple installation and/or don't have room on your dashboard for a video monitor.
