Bosch 431413 Dishwasher Dispenser

Do as I say, not as I do. BEFORE you install your dispenser, READ BELOW and SAVE a LOT OF GRIEF. Follow the disassembly instructions provided on any of the Youtube videos for Bosch Dishwasher Dispenser replacement. Disassembly took under five minutes.Here is where it went bad (but happy ending). Insertion of the new unit with new gasket/old gasket - makes no difference - was a bear. I pushed very hard and heard clicks. All of the bottom clips caught, half of the battle. Further pushing, pounding, tapping with a hammer would NOT seat the top clips. Testing with a glass of water confirmed it still leaked on top. At one point I pushed super hard, and the inner door started to twist and buckle - the BAD part. I was able to work the thin steel back to a reasonable appearance, and the flange was straight on the side where it meets the seal. I will have to live with the twisted looking metal near the edge of the door. Frustrated, and doing this at the end of a long day, I slept on the problem (well, slept on my bed, but gave up for the night).This morning I got up and did some observation. As I pushed hard on the top of the dispenser from the inside, the outside (inner door side) showed movement of BOTH the dispenser and the metal flange that captures the plastic clips. A thought crossed my mind to take a flat bladed screw driver (1/4" or wider) and turn the blade 90 degrees to the metal flange, allowing me to push opposite against the force of my hand trying to install the dispenser. In other words, dispenser in left hand...screw driver in right hand held up and pushing against metal flange. After a moment or two of hard pushing on my left, I never heard any clicks, but observed the metal flange had finally caught on the clips. Just to be sure, I repeated the process on both ends where the clips are. Pouring water confirmed it was now water tight.Had I taken the above step prior to the beating, hammering, over-force, my inside door panel would not have the wrinkles mine now does. It is currently running the test run, but the dispenser popped open to reveal the detergent, so it's a good start.Oh, and the two black plastic door supports that fall out when removing the skin...one of the videos discusses this. Easy to replace, hard to describe with words.

Product look identical to old one, The Bosch Youtube vedio showed a lady Rep. push it in easy. Not so, even with soap on the seal, had to use a block of wood & hammer to get the locks to engage. I would use the old gasket if I had to do it over again, to make it easier. Method of retention is not a good design. But it did fix my problem of not despensing the soap, old door would stay closed.

Replacement part works as well as the original. Small gripe that I have to manually nudge the clasp to lock the rinse aid dispenser.

You have to love it when you can review a repair online, then fix it yourself. Our Bosch dishwasher stopped dispensing rinse agent. After doing some research, I realized that I needed to replace the dispenser. The rinse agent is now dispensing, and most importantly, I no longer have the nasty smell emanating from my dishwasher. In addition to having spot free glasses, the rinse agent helps to break down the residual soap in the sump area of the dishwasher resulting in a cleaner smelling appliance. I am satisfied with the purchase...

The old part is a little tricky to remove, but the new part worked perfectly when installed.

very surprised when I received order, it was packed with Amazon box, not original manufacture's box, no any instruction manual. it's used NOT BRAND NEW.
